Well, I wasn't surprised by the ending at all. Last week, I said if either Aom or Samut stays behind, GMMTV better be giving me the second season.
Anyway, I LOVE the open ending! Plot twists are what I live for whether they're predictable or not. Samut is smart, but while making the wish, he didn't stop to think that this game deceives. He was only thinking of keeping his promise to Aom, otherwise his wording during the wish making would've went differently.

Yes, originally it was lined up for January, but during the Euro fan meeting tour, OG said that it was most likely going to air next month. 2026 ain't too far away anyway, so I can wait.
