I just finished reading the translated novel. A thrilling and romantic story. The female lead character Fan Chang Yu is strong - love her! Can totally see Zhang Ling He as Xie Zheng. Swooning! Can’t wait for the drama version especially since it’s directed by Zeng Qing Jie (loved Blossom!).

Finished the novel translation. She’s such a badass assassin!! It’s not a GL. Two souls sharing a body; An Jiu eventually owns the body because Mei Jiu dies. Mei Jiu is reborn in a different body. I wonder how much of the original novel the drama will follow.

I didn’t expect to like this show this much but now I’ve binged to episode 18! It’s an entertaining watch; there’s intrigue, fantasy, action and the characters are interesting and fun - his relatives, the guardians, Yang Yan, Caiwei, the demons etc. The uncle is hilarious. Great casting of Wang He Di in this role.

Good fun so far, very watchable. Two lead actors I like, especially charismatic Li Yun Rui, and the supporting cast too.

Never have I completed a drama before that made me shed tears all throughout. I stand by my earlier comment that this production is absolutely gorgeous in all aspects. Even sorrow and pain is beautiful. Love is heartbreaking. Courage to stand firm and to fight for those who can’t. Courage to love knowing what lies ahead. Trust and brotherhood. Okay, maybe the flashbacks are a tad longwinded but that’s a minor, minor miss. It’s a story about heroes and it inspires and moves me. A ten for me.

I think this was one of the funniest and entertaining j dramas I’ve watched. I suggest to view it through a Japanese cultural filter from that year, 2015. Society is changing slowly now in 2024 but the patriarchy is strong and will take time. Many j dramas reflect this culture.

This show is utterly gorgeous. Like a dream. It hits all my senses. I drop everything to watch it - haven’t felt like this about a drama in a long time. Let’s hope the remaining episodes stay on track.

I didn’t expect to like this drama so much! It’s a beautiful one. Suzy and Yang Se Jong are so good together. The last drama I watched Suzy in was Start Up and she’s leveled up her acting in Doona!. She’s luminous here and of course we all believe her as a kpop idol since she’s really one. Having said that, her emotional depth here was well portrayed. As for Yang Se Jong, I’d only seen him as a very young actor in Dr Romantic - well, he’s definitely grown up into a charismatic, emotionally astute actor, and good looking to boot. Interestingly, I found closure in the ending. Oh, great OST too. Ordinary Day by Suzy is lovely and bittersweet. Don’t miss out on this drama!!

Finished watching this series - basically binged the last few episodes. This was a heartwarming, beautiful, lighthearted journey….the production team got everything right, from the script to the casting to the post-production. Pacing was perfect, never a dull moment. I especially love how the FL expresses her thoughts at the end of each episode - a sound bite of what she’s thinking. How could anyone not fall in love with someone so brave, effervescent and true? And those rare dimpled smiles from the ML. They stole each other’s hearts. Solid ten for me.

This drama gives me plenty of feels. Feel-good, that is. Am only at episode 12 but just want to say that so far this is such a well-crafted drama made with, dare I say, love. The actress, new to me, who’s playing the FL gives just the right amount of adorable, without any cringe. She knows when to pull back - a solid 10. Zhou Yi Ran, the ML who I’ve only seen before in Falling Into Your Smile, also successfully conveys his “aloofness as a defence” without appearing cold. Another solid 10. The supporting cast are fab. The OST also a thumbs up. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the episodes.

The drama was a heavily adapted version but the main characters of YY and WZ were pretty true to it. I have gained even more appreciation for the screenwriter - not easy to turn the original source into something people will watch on screen.

Great cast, great production. The main leads are so good together. Fun, easy watch -recommend!

I’m only at chapter 23 out of 200, still very early in the story. Agree that the screenwriter is quite masterful.
