I don’t think people shouldn’t avoid watching Ticket to Heaven just because the topic feels “too real or harsh.” Queer religious trauma is real, and stories like this are important because they show struggles that many people actually go through. Ignoring and never discussing it won’t make it disappear.
Again, at the same time, I understand the risks these kinds of roles can bring for actors too, especially with homophobia, harassment, and hate online, which honestly just proves why conversations like this still matter. I think for the sake of people who have experienced anything that TTH goes over should know this series exists and that whatever their story is, they are not alone. 💗💗
