This is one of the best historical dramas, the acting is excellent, the story captivating, keeps the attention if the audience, it's well written and informative. A must to see for those who live history and intrigue.Highly recommended for the above audiences.

Female lead lacks

Entertaining
Movie doesn't have high end special effects but it keeps the attention of the audience. It give a nice look into Miao folklore, which it was interesting. Miao: The group has a population of 8.9401 million, of which 48.1 percent lives in Guizhou Province. Han: With a population of nearly 1.2 billion, it forms the main body of the Chinese nation. The Han people inhabit most regions in China, but mainly live in the Yellow, Yangtze and Pearl river valleys. They inserted mini stories to add episodes and totally ruined the whole thing. The worst part of the story is that China forced by the victors to repel its opium prohibition. By 1858, 70,000 chests were coming into China per year, bringing in some 4,500 tons of opium. That’s the same amount of opium produced in the entire world in 2016.The Qing Dynasty fell in 1911. By that time there were 90 million opium addicts in China out of a population of 300 million. The century that followed the First Opium War is known is China as the bainian guochi (百年國恥, lit. the Century of Humiliation).
