Your comment made me laugh. Yes he is quiet and he uses it so well to his advantage. I love him a lot, along with Ji Chang Wook's character in The K2, both have a lot of charisma and physically capable but also gentlemen and kind to children.

While I agree it's best to get the full story from S1, I actually thought the opening of Season 2 was a great introduction for people who hadn't seen it before. It really makes you curious about what happened before, but if you really want you could watch S2 and then go back to S1. (There are some events hinted at from S1 that made our villains really mad, but again, its more intriguing than needing to remember any specific details.)

I skipped that episode, from what I hear it is just a reminder of what already happened in the show with some guest MCs (someone can correct me if there's anything more there). I will check it out just to see if there are behind the scenes, but I skipped right over it while binging the season.

S3 was confirmed today! Sounds like all the actors were already open to it thank goodness.

I just remembered the first memorable scene between them in season 1, it was also the rooftop and it showed that our "aloof lone hero ML" was still close enough to have dinner with a colleague. I found their dynamic there already very endearing because it showed they are comfortably close, where most MLs in this type of story remain stand-offish. So that ending in S2 was a lovely call-back! I am shipping them too.

Just when I thought I'd seen most of Le Je Hoon's characters, the crazy in the prison was sooooo good.

I agree that the family dynamics of our group were so heartwarming in this season. Even though I didn't start out season 1 with any such expectations, by the end you realize how much you like everyone together. And season 2 started right up reminding us of how much we like these guys! It felt like an organic transition into a closer family dynamic and I'm sure the cast and writers felt it as well.

Regarding the product placement, it always made me laugh because it was SO obvious like they're winking at the camera and us, it surely must be intentional, almost like breaking the 4th wall but not quite. The humor in the show really works for me.

Agreed, it shot to the top of my best k-drama list as soon as Part 2 was airing! I love all the cast so much.

It seems a constant that speculative fiction shows don't usually get the acting attention they deserve. I almost only watch speculative fiction so I'm biased of course. :)

I laughed at the comparison of watching a drama for an actor being a noble act! I've watched a few C-dramas or k-dramas merely for an actor even when the story itself made me pull my hair out, but I actually don't regret it since I knew what I was getting into.

Another criteria I use is recommendations here on Mydramalist from dramas I really liked. I keep lists of these, and sometimes a show turns up on multiple recommended lists, and that triangulation gives me a really good impression of what the show is similar to.

Ok, I just have to ask, as a fan of Lee Je Hoon who can't get enough of him, how far should I watch this drama and then stop to have a happy ending? I'm tempted to just start watching a few episodes since he'll be great at the Crown Prince, but I need a stopping point.

I just watched that last week! It was really great. Lee Jee Hoon has the ability to look haunted whenever he needs to.

I really want to watch Tribes and Empires but it seems like one of those best to stop early, and I don't know when to stop. Also, I love Cheng Yi, but from what I've heard Immortal Samsara may benefit from stopping early (and where I wonder??). Same with Novoland: Pearl Eclipse, except someone in the comments did recommend a good episode one could stop at, so I will probably do that.
