One of the things that drives me about K-drama writing is the lack of backbone the writers give MLs , The writers will give overbearing and interfering parents 20 minutes worth of insults to dole out while the ML will get one line of writing as a defense and often it is shouting out the parent's name in a loud somewhat angry voice and then staring with a disappointing look on their face.
I have only seen one drama where they gave the ML decent dialogue to make his case to his overbearing mother or parents and that was in The Midnight Romance in Hagwon where the ML told his parent he was going to live his life his way, love who he wanted to love and work the job he wanted to work.
