I'm really enjoying watching this and Perfect Crown at the same time. The contrast between the larger than life atmosphere of PC and the bottom of the barrel lifestyle and times of Hwang Dong Man is so entertaining. Acting is great in both as well.

It's mind boggling how people care so much about the ratings.
I have no problem with ratings–they're great for getting a quick sense of quality. But when hundreds show up after just one episode, it feels rushed and defeats their purpose.

There should really be lock on ratings until at least half the episodes have released for any drama/show. Rating something when the first two episodes haven't even been released will always be absurd to me.

She has a knack for choosing great scripts..and is an actress that challenges herself..
Yeah I see it, I love her anyways but the fact that it seems to be the case that she picks roles that actually require a genuine performance makes her an actress worth her weight in gold 🪙

man, GYJ has seriously elevated her acting—very impressed. I know there are a few sensitive people on here, so just to clarify, I’m not implying she was ever lacking before, only pointing out that she’s really taken it up a notch here ❄️

Title Perfect Crown Spoiler
Most people don't know what to in the situation of a brake failure. You're supposed to shift to neutral to halt…
The Bugatti Tourbillon (the car IU drives) is an automatic so putting it in neutral is still the correct thing to do. I just finished episode 4 and based on the last scene, the fact that even hitting the brakes on the car was causing it to accelerate, I doubt that there was any way to stop the car normally since the car was tampered with and didn't have a regular brake failure.

do hand brakes not work, when the brakes fail?
Most people don't know what to in the situation of a brake failure. You're supposed to shift to neutral to halt any acceleration and then if you're able, steer the vehicle to a safe spot as it slows down and then hit the handbrake but if your car is still accelerating just hitting the handbrake isn't the right thing to do. I don't even know why I'm answering your question since I didn't watch all of episode 4 yet, smh.

Wait, you think she was supposed to expect someone would try to kill her with her own car? Idk, if I were her…
Yeah to expect your own vehicle to be rigged doesn't make any sense. Moreover to expect a car that starts at over $4 million USD to have been tampered with probably isn't what comes to mind when entering one.

l'm genuinely so impressed–the production quality, the OST, and especially the acting are all top tier.Coming…
I wasn’t trying to compare them at first, but the contrast was unavoidable since I just watched BoD. And yes, IU has far more experience, and I agree with you on the kind of drama BoD is—but if anything, that makes it even worse that Jisoo couldn’t even handle a role like that. On screen, it never felt like she was the character–just someone trying to act, and a poor attempt at that.

I usually pick up character names easily, but I couldn’t even remember Jisoo's character because her portrayal was that painful to watch. I was just watching her trying to do something that she has no talent for.

Meanwhile, Ha Young, who played her best friend, did a fantastic job. If she had been the lead, the drama could've been decent. The plot itself wasn’t great, but it wasn’t unsalvageable however Jisoo’s acting is what made it beyond saving.

I get why she was cast since her global popularity guarantees attention and inflated ratings but from a pure acting standpoint, choosing Jisoo for a main role is willful negligence. Jisoo is at best fit to play supporting roles–minor ones at that and I'm being generous with my assessment.

Coming fresh off of watching Boyfriend on Demand, the difference is brutal. The female lead's performance literally hurt to watch, worst I've seen in a kdrama. I was seeing someone try to act instead of actually acting. It honestly ruined the entire drama when it could've been decent show if not for the female lead. Then there's IU who's in a different league altogether. She brings so much depth and control to every scene, elevating everything without ever overdoing it. Her acting in WLGYT was lights out and she really took ownership of this role to follow that up, I look forward to the rest of the drama.

I saw someone comment that IU doesn't have FL range. I just came fresh off of watching Boyfriend on Demand and that was a difficult watch in terms of FL range. IU is phenomenal, I genuinely wouldn't think she was an idol if it was my first time watching her, the micro expressions and her ability to portray exactly what was asked of the role is immaculate.

Everyone has to admit, the real mamacita in the show was Ji-Soo friend “Ha Young”
She's female lead quality which is why I'm surprised that she played a supporting role in this. She's in an upcoming drama as the FL so look forward to that if you want to see more of her.

how's minju acting in this??
I didn't even know Min Ju was an idol; genuinely thought she was a theater-trained actress who grew up in the craft. She's phenomenal, effortless, and clearly born with a talent for acting. it's as if it runs in her blood, her quality is undeniable. Hope she finds massive success as an actress, she absolutely deserves it.

I noticed that too... Despite being a global idol she lacks star quality
The actress that played her friend is solid at acting, that's probably what you liked about her. She has a romance drama coming up with Jung Hae-In called "Our Sticky Love" and she's playing the FL so check that out if you enjoyed watching her.

This has always been a one sided beef and GYJ fans responded when triggered. GYJ was only 3 years into her career…
I know, it's quite absurd. Never thought someone could turn an entirely positive and complimentary comment and reply to it like it was a hate comment but there's always someone out there to prove you wrong. I'm glad that you noticed.

I understand why you have given soo much of a disclaimer...because of the fear of online terrorism...but she was…
No, my comment is just critical and honest. if I was a hater you'd see one star ratings for all her dramas under my profile's completed list but that's not the case because I actually give things a fair chance. I just don't sugarcoat things and that seems like hate to you, but that's fine because I simply stated what I've seen based on her acting so far. Maybe she'll improve significantly in the future, I don't know, I've heard IU used to be poor at acting when she first started and she's a terrific actress now so there's always a possibility.

Yeah, honestly her acting is terrible. She really needs to take acting lessons because it clearly isn't something that comes naturally to her. I'm just disappointed because every time get my hopes up thinking maybe she'll be decent this time, but no. It's obvious the members of Blackpink are busy, but if you're going to act and take main roles from actresses who can actually perform, then you really need to at least take acting lessons-enough to be decent enough for the screen. I think acting really just isn't Jisoo's thing, which means she either has to seriously work on it or the lack of skill is going to show, which is exactly what happened here. I started the first episode and the only reason I wanted to watch it was because of her but based on the comments and ratings, doesn't look like much has changed.

I’m not sure why you're coming across as defensive. I didn’t insult anyone or imply anything negative. I also haven’t watched or read every single interview GYJ has ever done since I simply don’t have the time for that.

That said, I did look up the interview you’re referring to, which is the Korea Times interview she gave after Moving finished airing. That interview was from August 2023, and it can’t really be used as an absolute statement about her later roles. Can This Love Be Translated? only came out in January 2026, so an interview from 2023 obviously couldn’t take that character into account.

When I say that Cha Mu Hee feels closest to her personality, I’m clearly speaking from my own perspective based on what I’ve seen since then, especially considering that GYJ has talked about relating to Mu Hee’s anxiety at public event as she also gets nervous at award shows and promotional events. Opinions can change over time, especially after playing new roles.

I’m honestly a bit confused by the subtle hostility in your reply. No offense was intended on my end, so there’s really no need to interpret it that way.

Person Go Youn Jung
She only replaced Jung So‑min due to scheduling conflicts. From what’s been shared, the writers/director originally…
I didn't read an article on it, but you're right- what said before wasn't accurate. I actually got my info from this video:

https://youtu.be/R4fy3IV5M3s?si=Bwnovpgagl2fDumi

The part I'm talking about starts around the 3:12 mark, I was going off memory with my previous comment, so I didn't recall it exactly. Watching it again now, it's clear nothing was confirmed. Honestly, I didn't dig deeper into anything afterwards since I have other things to do.

That said, a quick Google search suggests that GYJ was meant to play the role in Part 2 of AoS, because the story wouldn't really work if Jung So-Min reprised her role after the ending of part 1. To keep it spoiler-free for anyone planning to watch AoS, I won't go into more detail. So apologies, what I said about the scheduling conflict was factually incorrect since it wasn't confirmed by any credible source.
