I love how they used the some of the main actors from The Blood of Youth as the younger versions of younger characters in this drama. I must say, out of all the airing dramas Iām following, the Blood River is my best one. Itās the first I watch everyday š.
Decided to start this as well with the other two I am seeing (Blood River and Sword and Beloved), and I must say, Iām enjoying this as well. Binged up to Ep.8 in one go. Maybe itās because of all the action scenes, but this and blood river are toping for me.
This is before the events of Blood of Youth right? In blood of youth, the guardian of Tuanqi was already dead and her son inherited the sword (heart sword). Sometimes I think itās after, other times I think itās before.
What a show! I enjoyed the story and the acting of all the cast members. Some people could find it difficult to watch due to the theme being discussed, however, it was done well and quite realistic considering the context of Chinese society (and even the world at large) when it comes to the topic of rape. Zhang BinBin should definitely take on more serious roles so that his acting capabilities can continue to shine.
Also, I need to mention how well the story was wrapped up. As C-dramas are notorious for shitty endings, I make it a duty to praise those that tell their story well to the very end.
Now, I need to find another drama to watch simultaneously with Blood River (waiting for releases can be a torture for me š¤)
EP. 17, oh my! My heart canāt take it. The main coupleās scene together deserves an award. Well played. First time seeing Zhang BinBin in such a serious and well done drama ā I love when actors challenge themselves and move out of their comfort zone. Most of Mao Xiaotongās drama Iāve seen are serious and well done dramas, so, not surprised with her delivery in this role.
Iām so curious now what changed for ChuChu judging from the comments in her betrayal. She was so supportive before even supporting selling the house and preventing the brother from breaking up with her. Thatās strange 160 degree behavioural change.
Iām already sad itās about to end.
