"Semplicità non è sinonimo di mediocrità"

Premetto che ho adorato questo drama visto nel 2017 a cui sono seguiti altri due rewatch (l'ultimo pochi mesi fa). Forse averlo visto 9 anni fa può incidere sul mio giudizio, dato che non ero ancora "satura" del genere anche se non ero una novizia di k-drama... Ma anche a distanza di anni, il mio parere non è cambiato e mi ha emozionata ancora!

TRAMA: Ho apprezzato la sua semplicità/naturalezza grazie alla mancanza dei tipici cliché coreani: non ci sono tragedie che ti fanno venir voglia di strapparti i capelli, ricconi arroganti e famiglie invadenti.
La storia rimane fedele alle sue premesse, concentrandosi sulla crescita personale, sentimentale e lavorativa di questi 4 ragazzi che sono amici di lunga data e vicini di casa, persone "comuni" che si avvicinano ai 30 e che affrontano le loro sfide quotidiane.
Mi è piaciuta moltissimo l'ambientazione quasi esclusivamente "casalinga", crea un senso d'intimità con i protagonisti, alla quale risulta quasi impossibile non affezionarsi.

CAST: Semplicemente perfetto! Gli attori sono stati bravissimi ad entrare nei loro ruoli ed hanno un grande affiatamento.
Park Seo-Joon come Ko Dong-Man è fantastico: passa dall'essere un pò tontolone (in senso buono), ad un lottatore grintoso ad un amante dolcissimo, con grande disinvoltura. Con la sua vasta gamma di espressioni ti regala momenti divertenti con belle risate, ad altri più commoventi e drammatici.
Kim Ji-Won come Choi Ae-Ra: attrice che ho conosciuto qui per la prima volta (e con gli anni in tanti altri show), semplicemente esilarante! Schietta, sincera, una tipa tosta indimenticabile che mostra anche le sue fragilità.
La chimica tra i due attori è ottima e ho amato la naturalezza dei loro dialoghi! Mi hanno regalato tanti sorrisi e tenerezza, seppur le loro effusioni sono abbastanza "caste" rispetto ai drama più recenti. Ho trovato molto credibile e ben gestita la transizione da "migliori amici d'infanzia ad amanti".
Anche la seconda coppia è ben interpretata, anche se affronta delle situazioni un pò spinose che mi hanno innervosita ed alla prima visione ho saltato parecchie delle loro scene.

Il drama affronta tante tematiche in cui è facile ritrovarsi (sogni rimasti chiusi nel cassetto, tensioni familiari, l'insoddisfazione per il lavoro, problemi economici, la paura di lasciare la strada "sicura" per rincorrere una passione, ecc.) ma il tutto è ben bilanciato senza dare l'impressione di voler strafare.

Di sicuro non è un drama da guardare quando si cerca il capolavoro o la storia innovativa, ma lo consiglio spassionatamente a chi cerca qualcosa che faccia emozionare, che regali positività e buon umore e a chi voglia affezionarsi a personaggi realistici e ben sfaccettati, con ovviamente una bella dose di romance.
Una bella storia genuina nel suo realismo, che ti entra nel cuore e nella quale torno di tanto, è come una boccata di aria fresca in un panorama doramico che sembra stia perdendo la sua "autenticità" per rincorrere un perfezionamento stilistico a discapito dell'investimento emotivo.

From a non-fan of zombie series

As the title of my review suggests, I'm not particularly fond of zombie stories, the classic group of survivors in an apocalyptic setting, or excessive gore as entertainment; yet, the series had me glued to the screen and I devoured it in two days!
I started it primarily because I love dark atmospheres and mystery. Plus, the killer factor piqued my interest, and I'm glad I did, regardless of the rather low rating.

What worked for me was the originality of this extraterrestrial entity that feeds on the grudges, traumas, fears and evil inherent in every human being.
Dark Hole covers a wide range of genres: we have sci-fi, horror, thriller, action, and drama. I'm not saying it was perfect, and I understand some might find it "too much," but for me it worked well, keeping the suspense high until the end without ever boring me.
As often happens in similar series, there are many characters with their own subplots but I appreciated that almost all of them were connected in some way, as if they were pieces of a mosaic and are revealed to us little by little until the last episodes.

The cast is excellent, I only have two complaints: one about the older police officer, whose performance I sometimes found a bit excessive/caricatured (even with his lines out of place in the serious context, and here the actor is not to blame) and the other about FL who, although charismatic and perfectly suited to the action scenes, seemed "odd" when some emotional depth was required (especially her intonation, it was as if she were reading the script aloud). I definitely preferred her stoic imperturbability. However, this is the first time I've seen this actress and I'm curious about her other works.

I lowered my overall rating a bit because of the final episode, which I won't say was bad, but it was slightly disappointing compared to the expectations built up for the series.
The CGI of the monster wasn't much to my taste; I preferred it when only the tentacle was visible. Choosing to show it in full length seemed ridiculous, and the way it was defeated also seemed a bit stupid, but that's a matter of personal taste.
The time jump, with the return to normality where everyone is smiling and happy, and the hint of a future romance between the protagonists, I found a "soap" for the viewers that I would have gladly done without; again, it's purely a matter of personal taste.
The final scene after the credits, however, is typical of horror films. Even if it doesn't answer the "why," I don't think there's room for a second season, and I'm fine with that; I don't consider it a cliffhanger.

In conclusion, it's a series that manages to entertain well, even if it's not perfect. It's perhaps not suitable for those who want everything explained in detail, but it can be very entertaining for those who "enjoy the journey more than the destination." It's worth a try even if you're not a fan of the genre, because it has different and captivating elements. And for those who are afraid of seeing gory scenes, I'd say it doesn't feature excessive violence; there's plenty of blurring of wounds and blood.

Ammetto che dopo i primi 2 episodi volevo dropparlo ma per fortuna che ho continuato la visione, perchè nonostante alcune pecche evidenti, l'ho terminato con un sorriso stampato in faccia.

Non sono una grande fan di tutto ciò che riguarda il mondo virtuale, contenuti AI ecc... Alcune location oggettivamente belle dai colori vibranti e luminosi ma "troppo finte" per i miei gusti, così come trovavo noiose le continue sfilate di moda e i primi piani della FL che sembrava puro fan service. Inoltre non sapevo chi fosse Ji Soo ma mi stava un pò antipatica la sua voce, però andando avanti ho superato la mia avversione e non ho alcun pregiudizio verso gli idol che provano a recitare.

Diciamo che tutta la dinamica degli appuntamenti virtuali con i vari cameo, mi ha un pò deluso. L'unico "fidanzato" degno di nota è stato Seo Eun Ho interpretato da Seo Kang Jun che ho trovato veramente perfetto nel ruolo, grazie anche al fatto che ha avuto un arco maggiore; gli altri hanno avuto così poco screen time che li ho trovato sprecati, erano solo delle comparse che passavano troppo velocemente per lasciare una qualche impressione al pubblico.
In ogni caso meglio per me, perchè le cose hanno iniziato ad interessarmi veramente, solo quando il drama si è spostato sulla vita reale della protagonista e finalmente vediamo il ML prendere vita (è praticamente inesistente nei primi 4 episodi).

Ecco, forse il problema è che ho percepito il drama frammentato, come se ad un certo punto stessi vedendo una serie diversa. Ho trovato scollegate la prima parte con la seconda, perchè in effetti non c'è nessuna costruzione della dinamica relazionale tra la FL e il ML prima della confessione.
Comunque ho pensato che gli autori abbiano voluto appositamente farci questa "sorpresa" come se lo stessimo vedendo dal punto di vista di Seo Mi Rae, che era completamente ignara di ciò che provava il suo collega.

Ho adorato quando ci hanno mostrato le cose dal punto di vista di Park Gyeong Nam e mi è piaciuta abbastanza la fase dell'innamoramento tra i due, anche se era un pò frustrante vedere la protagonista scappare via continuamente in modo infantile e senza parlarne. Per i miei gusti questa era la parte migliore ed avrei desiderato viverla più lentamente, soprattutto perchè la protagonista era impaurita da una nuova relazione, invece c'è stata un'impennata di velocità e hanno scelto di mostrarci i vari spezzoni delle loro scene romantiche che sembrano arrivare troppo presto e smorzano l'emozione dello "slow burn". In ogni caso erano carini da vedere insieme ed il finale è soddisfacente per una rom-com leggera e spensierata.

Il cast è stato decente, come scritto prima è la prima volta che vedo la FL e mi è piaciuta maggiormente nelle scene iniziali che sono più "divertenti", nella seconda metà dello show in cui era richiesta profondità emotiva, l'ho trovata un pò forzata e con un'intonazione vocale strana (specialmente in due scene di pianto era troppo caricaturale), comunque penso che abbia dei margini di miglioramento e non è stata così orribile come ho letto in altre recensioni.
Seo In Guk mi ha un pò spiazzata, so che è bravo da altri suoi drama, eppure a volte l'ho trovato un pò sottotono e poco calato nel suo ruolo ma capisco pure che in termini di sceneggiatura non abbia avuto molto su cui lavorare dato che il background del ML è praticamente inesistente, è solo funzionale alla storia d'amore. L'ho trovato più credibile come Koo Yeong Il.
Tutti gli altri personaggi per me erano poco interessanti ed abbastanza piatti.

OST a mio gusto pessima, non ricordo nemmeno una canzone degna di nota, se non che alcune erano imbarazzanti e fastidiose.

Il mio parere complessivo è 7.5, era buona l'idea di partenza anche non proprio il mio genere, ma poteva essere interessante se sviluppata più a fondo con maggiore psicologia dei personaggi, invece sembra che gli stessi autori abbiano avuto paura e si siano rifugiati in un territorio più familiare e prevedibile. Un prodotto all'esterno ben confezionato, che vuole attirare facilmente il pubblico femminile grazie alle varie guest star, ma carente di sostanza.
Comunque è una visione breve e poco impegnativa che si presta molto bene per un bel binge watch in cui si vuole staccare il cervello!

Rom-com fiabesca

Ma che serie deliziosa! Probabilmente il mio voto è abbastanza alto perché erano anni che non seguivo più una commedia romantica giapponese (anche se in questo caso c'è anche molta incursione coreana).
L'ho trovata una boccata d'aria fresca con un ritmo frizzante e dolcissimo e mi è piaciuta molto l'impronta "fiabesca".

Cast: per me completamente nuovo, in teoria ho visto Chae Jong Hyeop in "Neverthless" ma non lo ricordavo come SML... qui è assolutamente adorabile, ha uno sguardo da cucciolo che ti fa sciogliere. Nikaido Fumi è molto bella ma non ho ben chiaro se alcune cose che non mi hanno convinta, sono dovute al suo personaggio scritto oppure alla recitazione che ho trovato poco variegata rispetto alla sua controparte. Come coppia sono graziosi, è interessante vedere il divario nella loro manifestazione dei sentimenti, forse dovuto anche ad una diversità culturale : lui molto solare, diretto e coccoloso, lei a volte quasi frustrante con il suo imbarazzo/disagio che ci può stare come carattere ma anche nell'ultimo episodio sembra un pò troppo forzata. Anche i personaggi secondari hanno fatto un buon lavoro, ho apprezzato molto la seconda coppia che si viene a creare, dove abbiamo finalmente una donna più aperta e meno impacciata, lui eccentrico, sono agli antipodi ma troppo carini!

Ho amato la scenografia dai colori caldi e brillanti, crea un'atmosfera perfetta per una storia che ho percepito molto leggera (ma non superficiale o stupida) e confortante, una "ricarica d'energia" come dice Tae Oh, che mi ci voleva per spezzare la visione dall'altro drama pesante in corso. Molto piacevoli anche i fraintendimenti utilizzati per dar vita a situazioni spassose, un'espediente un pò "vecchiotto" ma ben fatto e senza esagerazioni.

Con questo non intendo che il drama sia privo di difetti, ci sono state cose che mi hanno un pò stranita: ad esempio il tempo che ci ha messo la FL ad accettare i suoi sentimenti per il ML (a volte ero esasperata dalla sua indecisione, anche se comprensibile, mi ha fatto penare un pò fino a che si sono messi insieme); oppure il fattore "abilità" di Yuri poco esplorato e ripreso solo verso la fine; un pò di cose illogiche negli ultimi episodi che però sono servite per dare un tocco di drammaticità (molto breve) alla storia che altrimenti sarebbe risultata troppo zuccherosa e monotona. Il tutto però è veramente trascurabile rispetto ai lati positivi e l'ho accettato senza soffermarmici troppo perchè non credo che il drama puntasse a voler essere perfetto ma il messaggio che voleva lasciare è arrivato comunque e con un bel finale soddisfacente.

Mi sento di consigliarla a chi cerca una visione "scaldacuore" molto romantica e ben recitata con un tocco fantasy, anche abbastanza breve da poter maratonare in 1-2 giorni. Sicuramente in futuro mi rivedrò alcune scene, sarà un comfort-watch per i momenti più stressanti!

Not what I expected

The plot was good, and I expected a "silent" and touching love story, but here it was impalpable.
I didn't like that ML pretended to be able to play the piano (taking advantage of her being blind), nor that she found out without telling him... well, what the heck is this?

Realistically, I didn't see the basis for a love story to develop; without the medium of communication or eye contact, it could have been explored more deeply (perhaps the idea was better on paper than on screen).
The first part of the film is very slow, and we mainly follow Aoi's day-to-day life. In the second half, the story becomes so melodramatic that it seems forced, just to accommodate Aoi's sacrifice, going to prison in his place.

I thought the cast was passable. With a script like this, everything relied on the actors' expressions, and unfortunately, they didn't convey anything to me. She, in particular, was lacking.

Unfortunately, I was truly disappointed with the show.
The beginning of their meeting should have laid the foundation for their love story, but it was so quick and banal that it didn't convey the deep feeling between the protagonists (especially the acting of ML was very flat).

STORY: A short drama to watch without expectations. It features the typical clichés: FL is rich, ML is unlucky with sick family members and financial difficulties, an instant crush that FL calls "destiny," and SML is mean and jealous.
The only thing that's different from the usual is the poker game. Card games bore me to death, luckily it takes up a few minutes in the last episode (skipped).

CAST: Pleasant in appearance with decent acting. I found the romantic aspect forced, not helped by a corny/cheesy script.
The FL tried to make her more enterprising than average but for fear of exaggerating they still inserted cringe moments: don't look at me, I'm blushing... So annoying!
ML who "says he feels inferior to her" but it behaves the opposite way with playboy moments. It felt like I was watching a comic for teenagers.

I found the production to be low budget, the most annoying thing I noticed was in the external shots: they removed the natural background noise when the actors spoke and immediately put it back, so that we hear this continuous difference. Embarrassing.

MUSIC: I don't even remember it.

In conclusion, I would only recommend it to fans of the protagonists, a mediocre show that I would have preferred to avoid.

After reading so many rave reviews, I was convinced that I would love this drama, unfortunately that wasn't the case!
It started off really well, with a rural setting that I liked, and I followed it with interest until episode 8 (I was surprised by the revelation so early on), but after that it was so irritating and downhill.

The cast was excellent, I don't doubt that, but I found the actors really too "relegated" to their roles:
Lee Dong Shik has all these ambiguous expressions to make us believe something we ultimately know he didn't do, I found his sinister laugh and grins, repeated to the point of exasperation, forced and theatrical;
Han Joo Won is also a character who is very difficult to empathize with, he comes across as so unlikeable! I read that there was a bromance between the ML and I wonder if I saw the same thing as the others...I found their relationship, with its repetitive hostility and distrust, unnatural and tiring. Obviously I blame the direction and the script, not the actors.

As I said, after episode 8 there was almost a change in style that confused and bored me. The long scenes of the table conversations between the congresswoman and the slimy CEO were soporific for me, who detests these political and bureaucratic power games.

Some scenes seem cut off halfway, I imagine intentionally to create suspense and show them "complete" later, to surprise the audience, but I simply found them poorly edited.
After giving up at 12, I read the ending and am glad I didn't waste any more time.
Not even a particularly brilliant story; it was deliberately convoluted and difficult to follow (due to the flawed script), soporific, and failed to intrigue me or connect with the characters. In the end, I didn't care what happened next, and that's the worst thing for a thriller.

I don't even remember the music, so nothing memorable in my opinion.

Non riesco davvero a spiegarmi le tante recensioni positive...
E' da più di 10 anni che seguo K-drama ed apprezzo molto il genere "romantico", perciò ero preparata ad una commedia ricca di cliché e non mi aspettavo una storia eccezionale... ma questo!?

Trama: così trita e vecchio stampo che poteva andar bene 25 anni fa, l'unico modo per spiegarmela è pensare che sia nata intenzionalmente come una satira e non voglia prendersi sul serio ma anche così fa acqua da tutte le parti!
Recitazione: senza voler offendere la FL ed i suoi fan, ammetto di avere un problema con lo stile recitativo di questa attrice che trovo sempre molto "esagerata e forzata" con espressioni caricaturali che purtroppo non mi trasmettono alcuna simpatia.
ML già seguito in altri lavori, non trovo che sia un'attore meraviglioso ma in questo drama ha dato veramente il peggio, risulta legnoso e molto evidente che stia "interpretando" un ruolo. Credibilità zero. Gli altri personaggi pure sono relegati nelle loro parti e non ho trovato nulla che m'incuriosisse a continuare.

Di solito non sono una che abbandona i drama così in fretta, probabilmente ero anche in un periodo di bassa sopportazione alla banalità ma leggendo varie recensioni di chi ha completato la serie, sono contenta di aver risparmiato ore ed essermi fidata del mio istinto!
