From what I can tell from eps 1-4 and the trailers and BTS, is almost word for word with the novel. You see ML freezing the ocean and heaven strikes him with lightning and he rebels and freezes it! Freaking fantastic 😍 the fiance is Furong, he's a player and he actually likes men and women and he falls for Mo Fang, her subordinate that lets her escape in the first scene

So after one epic fight she "dies" and he went crazy (froze the entire East Sea to find her body). But she survived, kinda reborn as she's a Phoenix, like nirvana. Its not true. In the novel its one sided, Furong likes Mofang but Mofang likes Shen Li.

He is human when they met and fell in love, but his real identity is literally the last Ancient God left. He is not supposed to love, as it's said emotions (not just happiness, but the painful side of it) will cause too much rift in the world, as he is TOO powerful. So most of the ML's side of the story is grappling with trying not to love Shen Li, not lose control. But he can't help it, because his personality is pretty goofy, playful, and likes to tease her.

Contrary to you, I want more mortal arc episodes. Only 39 episodes, and the book is quite short anyway. I want to really see her fall in love with him and the pain of losing him as he's a mortal. Then the meeting later will be more worth it, with their background experiences.
