This was one of the best versions of this familiar storyline that I have watched. It began with anger and emotional pain but gradually developed into a sweet, natural and satisfying romance. The story was fast-paced, tightly written and entertaining, with believable misunderstandings and no unnecessary filler.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• The FL always placed others before herself. She originally gave up the ML for his sake and later endured tremendous hardship to protect her son.
• I loved her devotion to her sweet little boy and how courageously she faced the people targeting her.
• The child’s first approach to the ML was adorable, and the ML’s willingness to interact with him immediately revealed his softer nature.
• Their matching mannerisms and natural father-son bond were beautiful. The child sometimes felt like an adorable third wheel between the leads!
• The ML’s anger never completely erased his love. Even during their conflict, his concern repeatedly slipped through, and he protected the FL when it mattered.
• I loved watching their relationship move naturally from anger and hurt to cautious concern, tenderness and finally open love.
• The ML’s mother had excellent judgement. Her undercover-maid routine was an old cliché, but her immediate dislike of the SFL and affection for the FL were priceless!
• Once the secrets were revealed, the ruthless ML transformed into an adorable lovesick puppy and doting husband, while the FL finally became the boss.

WHAT I DISLIKED⚠️
• The earlier episodes included workplace bullying, manhandling and forced kisses, which may be uncomfortable for some viewers.
• The ML’s desire to punish the FL was harsh, even though his emotional conflict and gradual softening prevented him from becoming completely irredeemable.
• The SFL was nasty and manipulative, although thankfully she wasn’t allowed to dominate the entire drama.

• The lead actors had wonderful chemistry, intense romantic tension and several very good kisses.
• The ML’s facial expressions were excellent. Even the smallest changes showed his anger, concern, confusion and lingering love.
• The performances felt natural, and the emotional changes were given enough time to remain believable.
• The writing and direction balanced painful confrontation with softer moments, humour and genuine family affection.

FINAL THOUGHTS💭
This was a lovely feel-good romance beneath all the initial anger and emotional pain. I thoroughly enjoyed the leads, the adorable child and their believable journey from resentment and misunderstandings to honesty, forgiveness and love. I could easily have watched them for another hour!

The leads were raised as siblings, although they are not related by blood, and the ML had practically raised and protected the FL before his biological family found him. Their closeness made everyone uncomfortable, yet neither could tolerate the thought of the other choosing someone else. The ML claimed he had no interest in marriage, which was true—because the FL was the only woman he would ever consider marrying! Whenever they entered a family gathering, the atmosphere became icy enough to skate on, while poor Grandfather’s hilarious reactions showed that everyone understood their feelings before they did.

WHAT I LIKED✅:
I loved how completely they understood one another and how each was the other’s bottom line. Poor Grandfather’s reactions were hilarious because their awkward closeness constantly raised his blood pressure, yet even he was not immune to the FL’s charms.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE⚠️
The FL sometimes behaved far too childishly, which could become rather irritating and the ending felt much too rushed, almost as though parts of both the beginning and ending were missing.

CHARACTERS & PERFORMANCES🎭
I started watching because I found Cavan Wen extremely attractive, but thankfully, his acting was equally impressive. He made the ML calm, commanding, restrained, and protective without being cruel. The FL may be spoiled and wilful, but she is not weak; she teases him, argues with him, and pushes back when he becomes controlling. I take my hat off to the ML for resisting her coaxing for as long as he did!

HUMOUR😂
Poor Grandfather’s reactions were priceless because their suspiciously close relationship constantly sent his blood pressure soaring!

FINAL THOUGHTS💭
This was a beautiful romance about two people who had always been each other’s bottom line finally accepting their true feelings. Sweet, funny, entertaining, and definitely a must-watch that I happily recommend!

WHAT I LIKED💖
• The FL was strong-willed, bossy and no pushover. Her nickname, “little hot pepper,” suited her perfectly because she recognised when people were exploiting her and refused to tolerate disrespect quietly.
• I loved that the FL was not desperate to remain Mrs Pei. While the ML suspected her motives and wanted her gone, she was equally determined to regain her freedom and independence.
• Their bickering and petty retaliation were far more entertaining than instant love. Even while they irritated one another, it was obvious that the FL had already crawled under the ML’s skin.
• The ML’s transformation was delightful. He went from demanding a divorce to becoming increasingly possessive, protective and frightened that his wife might genuinely leave him.
• I enjoyed the FL’s outrageous plan to make the ML’s father dislike her enough to approve the divorce. Her complete frankness was hilarious—although the ML certainly did not appear pleased by her enthusiasm!
• The FL fought many of her own battles instead of sitting around waiting for the ML to rescue her. Even when placed in dangerous or humiliating situations, she remained calm enough to protect herself and retaliate.
• Once the leads lowered their defences, they formed a beautiful relationship. They were playful, caring and increasingly willing to share their vulnerabilities.
• The emotional conflict surrounding the substitute marriage worked because both characters had understandable reasons for feeling betrayed and hurt.

WHAT I DISLIKED⚠️
• The ML and his family repeatedly blamed the FL whenever something went wrong, sometimes treating her cruelly before learning that she was innocent. It was painful and infuriating to see how quickly they devalued a woman who had done nothing to deserve their mistrust.
• The FL’s stepfather and so-called cousin were completely without conscience. Their scheme against her crossed an unforgivable boundary and made their eventual punishment extremely satisfying.
• The ML’s reaction after discovering part of the truth was understandable emotionally, but he judged the FL too quickly and assumed their entire relationship had been built upon lies.
• Several misunderstandings could have been avoided through honest communication, especially once the leads had already developed genuine feelings and trust.
• Some of the family violence was excessive and made the FL’s repeated mistreatment difficult to watch.

• Chen Tian Xiao portrayed the ML’s progression from suspicion and irritation to jealousy, protectiveness and hopeless devotion very naturally.
• Their breakup was particularly emotional. The ML appeared completely shattered because he believed the woman he loved had deceived him, while the FL was devastated that he could so easily doubt everything they had shared.
• The pacing was fast and lively, while the leads’ chemistry successfully carried both the comedic bickering and the heavier emotional scenes.

FINAL THOUGHTS💭
This was an enjoyable substitute-bride romance with a strong FL, a possessive ML and an entertaining enemies-to-lovers dynamic. I loved watching Young Master Pei realise that the wife he initially wanted to remove had become the woman he could not bear to lose. Although the FL’s repeated mistreatment and the ML’s lack of trust frustrated me, their chemistry and emotional performances kept me invested. The open ending introduced the kind of final complication I had already suspected might appear, so it did not come as a complete surprise. Rather than diminishing my enjoyment, it left me curious about what would happen next and wishing the story had continued long enough to explore the consequences. • The true ML was a beautiful person and the perfect choice for the FL. He had loved her for years and had remained unmarried in her previous life because she was the only woman he wanted beside him.
• I loved how openly devoted and protective he was. He wanted the FL to be more than merely his wife, respected her abilities and was even willing to entrust his company to her.
• Neither lead was easily manipulated. The ML immediately rejected women attempting to interfere, while the FL recognised the traps being set and continued trusting her husband.
• Their chemistry was wonderful. They were affectionate, passionate and never ashamed to show how deeply they loved one another.
• The FL’s indifference was far more painful to her former husbands than any elaborate revenge could have been. The woman who once prioritised them no longer wanted or needed any of them.

• The three heirs were unbelievably arrogant. Even after the FL repeatedly said she was not interested in them, they continued believing she was jealous and blamed her whenever their moonlight suffered another suspicious injury.
• The SFL was not merely a scheming green tea—she was a poisoned white moonlight hiding a black heart beneath an innocent face. Her manipulation became especially vile when she persuaded the three foolish men to make extreme sacrifices for illnesses she exaggerated or fabricated.
• Her family was equally ungrateful. After receiving help when they had nothing, they behaved as though they were superior to their benefactors. Watching their entitlement finally produce consequences was extremely satisfying.
• At times, the three men’s devotion to the SFL was so irrational that it was difficult to believe none of them questioned her behaviour sooner. However, their stupidity also made their eventual regret much more enjoyable.

• Wang Zi Yi beautifully portrayed the FL’s emotional exhaustion, quiet strength and newfound decisiveness. Her controlled indifference made it clear that she had already suffered enough and was no longer willing to repeat the same mistakes.
• Xiong Yun Hao gave the ML a gentle but powerful presence. His character felt like the FL’s genuine romantic destination rather than another temporary husband in her cycle of suffering.
• The leads shared natural chemistry, and their affectionate scenes convincingly showed the difference between being tolerated by someone and being wholeheartedly treasured.
• The plot moved quickly and balanced romance, rebirth, family conflict and face-slapping revenge without losing focus on the FL’s second chance.

I loved this second-chance romance and its wonderfully satisfying revenge through indifference. The three former husbands believed the FL would always revolve around them, only to discover that she had chosen a devoted man who already understood her value. Watching their arrogance collapse into denial, regret and desperate grovelling was delicious, especially because nothing they did could persuade her to return. The FL had finally found true love and happiness, and she no longer needed any of them in her life. With a devoted ML, decisive FL, excellent plot twist and thoroughly deserved payback, this was an immensely entertaining drama!

• I loved the FL’s strong attitude. She refused to tolerate mistreatment, especially when it was directed at the people she considered family, and she never allowed greedy relatives to frighten her into submission.
• She was intelligent, practical and resourceful. Instead of relying entirely upon her supernatural supplies, she used her modern knowledge to introduce new ideas and create lasting opportunities.
• The KFC-inspired business was brilliant! It was an amusing concept, but it also demonstrated how the FL’s innovative thinking could improve her family’s finances and benefit the wider community.
• The FL became a genuine hero. She helped the sick, protected vulnerable people and prevented the impoverished village from starving.
• Her compassion was one of her greatest strengths. She generously cared for those who loved and respected her without allowing cruel or greedy people to take advantage of her.
• The two children added warmth to the story. The FL did not merely accept responsibility for them—she genuinely became their mother and created the secure home they needed.

• The leads were refreshingly honest about their feelings and problems. Their marriage was built upon open communication, trust, respect and consideration—qualities that are surprisingly rare in short dramas.
• Even when the FL’s ideas sounded strange, the ML trusted her judgement and stood firmly beside her. They recognised one another’s strengths and weaknesses and worked together rather than competing for control.

WHAT I DISLIKED⚠️
• The greedy relatives were infuriating. They behaved like blood-sucking ticks, taking other people’s hard-earned money and even their last portions of food as though they were automatically entitled to everything.
• The FL’s grandmother was particularly vile. She showed no compassion and physically and verbally abused not only the FL but also her parents.
• Some of the family conflict became repetitive because so many relatives were selfish, abusive or determined to benefit from the FL’s labour.
• The supernatural space occasionally made the FL’s achievements feel rather easy. However, her intelligence and willingness to use those resources for others prevented her success from feeling completely unearned.
• The ML spent considerable time away from the main storyline. I would have enjoyed seeing more of his developing relationship with the FL and the children.

• Wang Yu Kai balanced the ML’s military restraint with warmth and tenderness. Although he was not constantly present, his calm support gave the relationship a strong emotional foundation.
• The FL carried much of the story through her confidence, practical intelligence and compassionate leadership. Her transformation never depended solely upon romance or the ML’s status.
• The period setting worked particularly well with the resource-space premise. The contrast between scarcity and the FL’s hidden supplies created both practical challenges and opportunities for social development.
• The story successfully combined romance, family conflict, childcare, business development and community survival without making the relationship feel unimportant.
• The strongest element was the partnership between the leads. Their affection developed through trust and shared responsibility rather than endless jealousy or artificial misunderstandings.

This was a beautiful story about much more than a woman finding a powerful military husband. The story contrasts an ex who valued her status and obedience with an ML who already understood her worth.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• I loved that the FL chose herself immediately. She did not remain behind to demand closure from a man whose actions had already revealed exactly how little he respected her.
• The ML was not merely a convenient replacement. He had loved the FL since childhood, making their sudden marriage feel like the fulfilment of a long-held dream for him.
• His happiness when the FL entered his room was adorable. Watching the powerful, wealthy ML struggle to maintain his composure after learning that his grandmother had arranged their marriage was priceless!

• The FL’s parents were bloodsucking parasites who treated her as a tool for their own financial gain. After discovering that she had married a wealthy man, they suddenly pretended to adore her while hinting for money and business opportunities.
• The ML’s cruel father returned to seize the inheritance and deliberately targeted his greatest vulnerability, triggering his illness and threatening the life he had built with the FL.
• The ML’s decision to send the FL abroad was motivated by fear of what he—or his father—might do to her, but shutting her out still created unnecessary pain when honest communication might have allowed them to face the danger together.

• The supporting cast added colour without overshadowing the central couple. The grandmother, best friend and assistant were especially likeable, while the ex, his friends and the ML’s father were effectively infuriating.

I have watched this type of story repeatedly in different languages, yet it remains one of my favourites because the emotional journey can be profoundly heartbreaking. This adaptation worked especially well because Bai Fang Wen captured the ML’s transformation from obligation to devotion with extraordinary emotional intensity.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• Neither lead was responsible for the unexpected situation that brought them together. The ML still loved his longstanding girlfriend, while the innocent FL suddenly faced pregnancy and a marriage she had never planned.
• I appreciated that the ML did not simply abandon the FL to deal with everything alone. Although the marriage was not his choice, his sense of responsibility made him protect and support her.
• Bai Fang Wen’s facial expressions were exceptional. He portrayed happiness, playfulness, tenderness, grief and emotional devastation so convincingly that his pain became almost unbearable to watch.
• Even after seeing this drama twice, his sorrow still moved me to tears. I have rarely seen another C-short actor express such deep pain and grief so powerfully.
• The ML’s concern gradually developed into protectiveness, jealousy and undeniable love. What he initially regarded as a temporary responsibility eventually became the family and future he could not bear to lose.
• I loved the FL’s transformation. She began as a timid, insecure young woman who accepted being temporary, but the ML’s support helped her recognise that she was not merely a pushover. She learned to defend herself, say no and pursue her dreams.
• The auction was one of my favourite scenes. When the ML bought her handicraft, the FL was overwhelmed by the realisation that she was falling in love with a man she believed she had no right to love.

• Many of the ML’s actions unintentionally damaged the FL’s confidence. He treated her as someone he was obligated to protect temporarily, without recognising how deeply his emotional distance affected her.
• I disliked the assistant repeatedly keeping the ML “in check” and discouraging him from expressing the feelings he was beginning to develop for the FL.
• The SFL did not seem to love the ML himself; she loved being admired and placed first. She returned when she could no longer perform and wanted the attention he had always given her.
• Her selfishness and refusal to accept second place made her increasingly cruel. She was willing to harm the innocent FL without caring about the consequences.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• As expected, Min Jie was not shy about displaying his beautiful eight-pack, and the drama also delivered plenty of passionate kissing!
• Shen Qing Li was poor, young and somewhat naive, but she was never greedy. She showed little interest in expensive gifts or luxury because her priority was earning money for her brother’s medical expenses.
• I admired her determination to work for what she needed. Her emotional distance was not indifference; it was her way of protecting her pride, independence and vulnerable heart.
• She had quietly loved Gu Heng for years and hoped to reach his social level before pursuing him. After circumstances forced her into a humiliating arrangement with him, she feared that he would never respect her, love her sincerely or consider her his equal.
• Gu Heng was extremely difficult to read. He appeared cold and disinterested, yet he was always the first to protect her, pay her debts and create excuses to see her again.
• His devotion emerged through actions rather than words. He became increasingly jealous and possessive because he had also loved her for years but was emotionally guarded and terrified of losing her.
• I enjoyed their central contradiction: she withdrew because she believed she could never belong in his world, while he held on too tightly because he feared she would disappear from it.

• The SML was horribly manipulative. He secretly interfered with the FL’s employment and education to make her dependent on him, while allowing her to believe that Gu Heng was responsible for her suffering.
• His behaviour became completely unforgivable when, after feeling rejected, he sold the FL into human trafficking. Whatever sympathy his feelings might once have inspired disappeared at that point.
• Gu Heng’s inability to communicate made his genuine devotion appear controlling. Instead of explaining his feelings, he relied on jealousy, possessiveness and forceful actions, which intensified the FL’s fear that he did not respect her.
• The ending did not feel quite right. I would have preferred Shen Qing Li to confess while sober so that her decision felt completely deliberate and emotionally satisfying.
• Several conflicts and misunderstandings still needed proper resolution, making the final scenes feel abrupt rather than complete.

This drama was double trouble—double the deliciousness and double the entertainment! Bringing Min Jie and He Lian Fei together with two equally enjoyable actresses immediately caught my attention. Although the story combines numerous familiar short-drama tropes, the contrasting couples, devoted sisters and wonderfully accepting mother gave it genuine emotional warmth. However, anyone expecting a light pampering romance should be warned that much of the story is dominated by abuse, danger and deeply unpleasant villains.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• I loved how different the two brothers were from each other, just as the sisters had opposite personalities. Each character brought distinct concerns, insecurities and methods of handling conflict, yet both couples were perfectly suited.
• Min Jie’s character (ML) declared that he would never marry, only for marriage to become the first solution he proposed! Watching this cold, unemotional man gradually melt into a warm and protective husband was adorable.
• The ML initially focused on protecting the unborn child, but his growing feelings for the FL quickly became obvious. He fussed over every detail to ensure she was safe and comfortable, even while insisting their marriage was merely one of convenience.
• The older brother (SML)and sister (SFL) shared a quieter, more reserved relationship built on mutual respect. One of my favourite moments was her jumping to attention and replying military-style whenever her husband called her name—it was incredibly sweet!
• I loved the sisters’ loyalty and support for one another. Both were intelligent enough to recognise their families’ cruelty and refused to keep making foolish sacrifices for people who mistreated them.
• The ML's mother was absolutely wonderful. Although eager to marry off her sons—and practically assigning each brother a sister—she never forced them. She treated both FLs with gentleness, patience and sincere affection, giving them the loving family they had lacked for so long.

WHAT I DISLIKED⚠️
• The drama opens with domestic abuse, and betrayal, immediately establishing a far darker tone than its sweet-romance premise suggests.
• The doctor’s behaviour was appalling. Falsifying a pregnancy result, destroying the FL’s hope, claiming she had no alternatives and pressuring her into immediate action was an unforgivable abuse of medical authority.
• The unpleasant behaviour became relentless. Hospital and hotel staff were indifferent, jewellery-store employees were judgemental, workplace bullying was added, and even the military storyline included betrayal.
• With so much time devoted to cruel relatives, corrupt employees and repeated danger, I sometimes wondered where all the promised pampering and sweetness had gone.
• The abusive ex-husband’s continued presence was frustrating. After supposedly facing consequences, he reappeared in another disturbing scene, making his storyline feel unnecessarily prolonged.

• The four leads worked well together, and their contrasting romantic dynamics prevented the large collection of familiar tropes from becoming completely repetitive.

Although the medical premise is highly dramatised and several disturbing actions were not addressed properly, the unusual storyline kept me glued to the screen. Zhao Zhen Dong’s transformation from an emotionally distant pilot into a fiercely protective partner provided the central romantic appeal.

• The FL was the true strength of this drama. Even after being deceived and placed under tremendous pressure, she refused to surrender or allow others to take her children from her.
• Whenever someone sabotaged her, she remained calm and found another solution. Her perseverance made her far more admirable than a heroine who simply waits to be rescued.
• I loved that she was talented and creative without constantly boasting or being portrayed as unrealistically perfect. In the end, it was the FL who saved the day!
• The ML’s persistence was compelling. Once he decided that the FL belonged in his life, he had no intention of ever letting her go.
• I enjoyed watching his demeanour gradually change. He began as cold, possessive and almost animalistic, but eventually became a man who clearly wanted the FL’s love more than anything else.
• Zhao Zhen Dong and Li Yue Xuan both performed well, and their relationship development kept me emotionally invested despite the familiar clichés.

• I also hated seeing the SML strike the FL while she was pregnant. The amount of violence directed towards her became difficult to watch.
• Several relatives interfered constantly, while misunderstandings created by the SFL and the ML’s conniving aunt delayed honest communication between the leads.

WHAT I LIKED💖
• I loved the FL’s outspoken personality. She refused to suffer quietly, defended herself without hesitation and handed out slaps so naturally that she might as well have been professionally trained!
• Her bold and unpredictable nature was one of the reasons the ML loved her. Although he had admired her for a long time, he was pleasantly surprised when she accidentally fell into his arms at exactly the right moment.
• The FL and the ML’s niece were almost always together and causing trouble. Whether they were pretending to work, confronting villains or desperately trying to conceal their latest mischief, their chaotic friendship made the drama incredibly entertaining.
• The age-gap dynamic was one of the drama’s biggest attractions. The FL brought excitement into the ML’s controlled life, while he gave her the security, guidance and protection she had been missing.
• The ML was protective without constantly treating the FL as helpless. He trusted her to handle difficult situations and stepped in whenever she genuinely needed support. If she called, he was there—occasionally even arriving at a fight with a gun!

• Ma Xiao Yu and Guo Yu Xin were perfectly matched. Their chemistry went beyond physical attraction and felt like a deep, passionate connection between two people whose lives had become completely intertwined.
• Ma Xiao Yu brought charm, intensity and tremendous emotion to the ML. His expressions communicated grief, longing and affection even when he said very little.
• Guo Yu Xin gave the FL a beautiful, gentle personality while expressing so much pain through her eyes. Her emotional performance made it easy to care about her.
• The kissing and intimate scenes were wonderfully passionate, providing just enough steamy CEO energy to balance the heartbreak.
• The little girl was phenomenal! Her devotion to her sick mother was incredibly touching, and her determination to find help became one of the most memorable parts of the drama.
• I also loved the emotional connection between the ML and his daughter. Their heartfelt interactions were beautiful but absolutely soul-crushing.
• The ML’s assistant was handsome, loyal and likeable. I only wish his character—and the actor—had received more recognition.
