Title Backstreet Rookie Spoiler
i felt so bad to those hesitating viewers who planned to watch this but didn't do because of the blatant criticisms…
Agreed...the show's growth from ep1 to ep10 has been amazing....it's a pity most ppl dropped the show in the initial weeks based on face value and generalisations. This show's narrative has produced some of the most real characters that I have ever seen. The parents heartbreak after they realized they have been played...that scene legit brought tears to my eyes....also I could never hate YJ's character...still feel she is being real and her decision to break up is for the good of both of them. Wouldn't go as far as to say this is the best show ever but it's definitely a show worth watching.

I'm loving it so far. and really glad that they went on depict that close to reality. the struggle people with…
Even I like the fact that YJ's character has many layers to her...she is definitely not perfect...keeps DH at an arm's distance...knows she should probably break up with DH but keeps on dragging the relationship coz she doesn't want to let go of this amazing person who loves her unconditionally...also the reason she is so insecure about SB who, in her mind, can easily snag DH if she puts her mind to it. Her character has such grey shades that it makes her somehow relatable. The creators will eventually end DH and YJ relationship and they are dragging it just coz it's one of the main plotline of the story.... something a lot of people find hard to understand.

Just watched episode 7 and I must say, I am enjoying it thus far...the comedy, the emotional aspect, the relationship dynamic between DH's mother and SB and the friendship she has with GB and the other girl, the way they are always supporting her and rooting for her. I had started watching for JCW and now I care for these aspects more than anything else. The characters seem real in the way they are portrayed. Not everyone is perfect and this drama shows just that. I actually enjoyed DS version of what transpired between SB and YJ. All controveries aside, the whole show looks like one big parody. Looking forward to the next episode. Fighting!!

Actors take roles for many different reasons. No one will ever convince me Lee Min Ho signed on to play a high…
I think Healer was his best work till date...the suave and charisma he had in that show, sadly it was missing in the recent ones. He is super talented but doesn't want to be limit himself with action roles...that's quite understable as every actor should be able to portray versatility in their roles. It's just that, as audience, we are so used to seeing him take charge of every situation, that a character like DH seems very underwhelming.

Just watched episode 4 and I must say it's so much better than the mukbang fest that was episode 3...we get a little insight into the working of DH's and SB's minds. Although I enjoyed the episode as a whole, I really liked the introduction of "puppy" and found his chemistry with SB better...would really like to watch the development of that angle

People coming to the comment section for first impressions, here's mine:The drama is set in a very web-toon like…
Agree....JCW's character here reminds me of Bong Soo too...he was just too adorable there. I think JCW is best at playing these slightly socially awkward guys...and the heroine pursuing the hero instead of the other way round is such a delight to watch...I am happy the ratings have gone up.

i think rating will increase. Only 2 eps are aired, many people will rate drama later
Yes... atleast it's better than 1.0 that was there yesterday...and it will increase...the show is good and deserves a better rating.

They are too lazy to go check the definition in the Law and they prefer to argument based on their own understanding…
Well I don't necessarily agree with you here as it would be seriously weird on his part to give his phone number to a school girl...that would be ethically wrong on a lot of levels. I still think he was just too surprised to even notice what was happening....he tries to rectify the situation by saying it's not his number. That shows he didn't give his number willingly. Also CDH's character is supposed to be a confused kind of person lacking in judgement.

Yes it might happen that JSB helps him gain more confidence in the coming episodes.

Well I think he was too dumbfounded by that kiss to realize he had blurted out his phone number....it was comical to watch.

But I agree on your point....to me it just seemed like harmless flirtation from a bold school girl which the hero, even though surprised, did not get harassed by it. On the other hand he clearly dismissed her from his mind...moved on with his life...opened a convenience store and got himself a girlfriend. He only remembered her after she showed up and then was probably too embarrassed by the memory to mention it.
The heroine on her part clearly didn't follow up or harass or stalk him in any way during these three years. I am sure she knows it's unacceptable at her age to do something like that. Now that she is older, she feels he is fair game.
What her real motivations are would become clear on the coming episodes.
The only thing I feel a little weird about is that the hero is clearly objectified by all the females around him for his pretty face. But it really doesn't make much difference as it's a light hearted show and gives you the much needed dose of laughter...just my opinion....others might differ.

So true...people need to understand that they cannot impose their opinions on others by invalidating positive…
And you need to chill out a bit....just because some people are watching this show purely for entertainment purposes and don't want to look for any social or moral inconsistencies doesn't make them or their opinions ignorant.

It's not wrong to voice your opinions but to do it repeatedly for every alternate comment doesn't really cultivate a positive atmosphere.
I am sure there must be some aspect of this show that even you find positive and hence you keep coming back. It wouldn't necessarily be bad to look at the other side...would it?

It is always interesting to hear other people's opinions and ideas and I understand and respect when people voice…
So true...people need to understand that they cannot impose their opinions on others by invalidating positive comments and providing counter- arguments in the name of social expression. You don't like it, don't watch it....atleast give others a fair chance to judge if they want to watch it or not. The kind of social policing I see here on the same topics again and again is just getting plain irritating.

Person Ji Chang Wook
Is he really starring in City of Stars?...I thought he had rejected that offer.

Apart from JCW himself, there are two more characters from the drama healer in this show...PMY's dad from the former and his sidekick....reminded me of good old healer days!! Any Healer fans here??

At first I thought this one was going to be another #MMS by JCW but surprisingly this drama is refreshing and funny. I enjoyed the first two episodes and am looking forward to the next one. The drama definitely doesn't take itself seriously, neither do the characters or actors. As viewers, we shouldn't either but guess that's just a matter of perspective. Anywho, I am liking this one and hoping to see what really prompted it's two famous leads to take up such an unconventional show.
