Today's episode is just Bangkok tourism and a big ball of fluff...I just can't with the chemistry between the two leads. Its like watching someone's super private moments. Chef's kiss for every single moment between Gu Won and Sa-rang in today's epi.
Omo...Gu Won is so cute! And the chemistry between the leads in absolutely amazing...just started watching this and I am hooked. JH is my new fav actor.
Only thing I feel an issue is that they are not giving much focus on JH's back story and the sister - brother competition plot...otherwise the show is a treat to watch!

Completed the series today...had a good time with this all in all. It was a comforting watch, no hyped melodrama...short, sweet and comedic many times. Though I do hope JCW's next project has some level of action in it, he fits those kinda roles so much better.
The king's robes accompanied by that funny face still cracks me up! Assassin outfit does make him look more handsome. Already missing this show so much :(
A true gem of a show! Loved each moment to the very last episode. I know many people are disappointed by the ending, but truthfully i found the ending pretty satisfactory and also fitting for the characters. Not sure if the real king did lay the foundation of democracy, this one sure did ;)
All in all, this show will definitely find a place in my all-time kdrama favourites. Looking forward to more shows by the leads after this.
Episode 18 was filled with so many heartbreaking scenes, yet kudos to the makers that they were able to include so many light-hearted comedic scenes in between, especially loved the one with Queen's award winning cry fest. Also I just love the camaraderie between Miss Choi, queen and Hong Yoen! Hope both Miss Choi and Hong Yoen are okay.
I hope this drama has a happy ending... although the way the complex court politics is being portrayed, it seems unlikely they'll be able to lead a happy life until all the enemies like dowager queen and corrupt uncle are dead or incapacitated. Also the way the queen keeps writing letters to her baby, it shows that she will be not in baby's life in future. And they have to wrap up Bong Hwan's character arch as well. Seems a tad difficult that these two will end up together until it's in the present time or something. Though I hope they do get a satisfactory end to their love story
I stumbled across this gem while watching it's random clips on YouTube and have now binge watched all 16 episodes in the last three days. Haven't loved a drama so much in so long. I had already seen KJH in a couple of dramas but his acting in this one is on another level. And Shin Hye-Sun is just wow! Got me to believe that she is actually a man on so many occasions ?
3 episodes and I am loving this so far...love the slight mystery they have introduced in the main leads story...and I can relate so hard to KJW's character...the scared Lee Eun oh turning into this carefree and spontaneous Lee Seun-a... doing everything she was once afraid of. It says something about a show when they can bring out your deepest desires in the form of a character. And JCW is swoon-worthy not gonna lie but then I am bit biased there;)
apparently there is a lot of time gap b/w his breakup and him getting romantically close to SB but they didnt…
Yes that might be the case here, though as viewers, to us it seemed this guy's loyalties switched overnight. The makers should have relayed that properly. Or they should have devoted more time in the development of these two lead's love story. The confession seemed sudden, considering how indecisive they have shown DH's character to be. He went from being a mentor to having feelings for SB which didn't seem realistic at all. This show had some good potential but the choppy writing and editing has degraded it, especially the last few episodes. The upcoming two don't seem much better as well.
Yeah. I was wondering about this too. YJ broke up with him and suddenly he is in love with SB. Like what???
Exactly...it feels like the makers are tying up all the loose ends before the wrap of the show...and apparently the love story is one of the loose ends as well...almost like an afterthought. Somehow I just couldn't get invested into DH-SB love story...the DH-YJ seemed more real than this
I caught up with the last few episodes recently. The chemistry between DH and SB even though cute seems a bit rushed. Not sure why, but it feels like DH's affection shifted from YJ to SB really fast even though it took 10 episode to get to the point. One day he was all depressed about the end of his relationship with YJ and almost the next eve he is talking about how SB wouldn't like him talking to YJ....I mean what!! At one point, it felt like he was only getting cozy with SB to make YJ jealous but apparently there are genuine feelings involved. It's just that these feelings seem to have sprouted out of the blue. I get it...the makers have to end the show and have a limited window for romance... something they should have considered in the first 10 episodes of DH-YJ saga. From being a caring employer to the romantic confession of love, DH's character seems to have shifted loyalties very quickly.
The whole drama is filled with parodies of other dramas and movies. I think 2-3 per episode. It is not even subtle,…
I never knew this scene was from an existing movie...and there are more such scenes....thanks for sharing this insight....even the reference to world of married...I just thought the whole interaction was from the over-exaggerated pov of DS...still found it funny...I think even non-koreans can enjoy these scenes at face value even when they don't know it's supposed to be a parody. It's still fun to watch
Agree, it is so forced. The basic concept that if you are in a serious relationship for 3 years and haven't seen…
It's not surprising that they have not seen each other's parents...Asian kids introduce their gf/bf to the family when they are really serious about each other....and herr relationship was serious from DH's end...not much from YJ's...that was clear since the first few episodes....all this time he has insisted to meet her parents but she has never consented...making some or the other excuse...it's just that things have taken a drastic turn due to YJ's mother's interference...it basically gave DH a reality check that she and her mom will always see DH family at the lower end of the social ladder.
Only thing I feel an issue is that they are not giving much focus on JH's back story and the sister - brother competition plot...otherwise the show is a treat to watch!
