I'm on episode 25. The plot is good, I got my mom hooked💃

I'm not liking the characters as much as I would have liked - they are far from being complex. While the female lead doesn't fall into the archetype of being a damsel in distress, her writing and approach is common and one-dimensional. Xiao Yao is a character that had potential, but up to this point, she's a woman who wishes she had a lover who would be with her forever. There is no nuance, no questioning. And I'm disappointed because my expectations were high 🥺

Tushan Jing is the generic king of the block (it's not bad but I'm tired of characters like this – minimal creativity), the typical character whose flaw is being terribly kind to the point that it's what causes his harm and doesn't allow his to be assertive and decisive. If Jing had strengthened his heart as the series progressed, he would have been enjoyable to watch 😪

As far as I go, only Xiang Liu and Cang Xuang are the only characters that stand out here (like them or not, their writting is above average).
