Thank God, I wasn't the only one wondering about how the eldest siblings doesn't know the gender of their younger siblings. At four you're able to start storing some memories so I dont understand how they cant remember that. I also felt that the parents were really unfair to this kids. Imagine Cao xin thinking that he doesn't have a mother anymore in this world and how he sometimes wish his mother is around with them and this is very sad. I dont know why they didn't just raise them together instead of switching them. I feel like its really selfish. Imagine the mother died and he found out that she was his mother after her death, he would be so devastated knowing that his mother has been living close to him all this years but he doesn't even know it!
