Cool Concept, Cool Cells

This drama gives us a front seat on the inside battle that transpires in all of us every time we are facing the important moments in our lives. I often laugh silently when the cells are on screen coz their dialogues are SOOOO RELATABLE!! They represent all the monologues I have had inside my head. To animate the inner struggles we all experience as humans is a brilliant idea. Kudos to the writers for coming up with such witty and fun cell characters. I especially love Hungry and Lust cells with no underpants, lol.

The love story and the human characters are very realistic as well. Yumi's Cell is not another love story in Kdrama land. You should give it a try.

All-time favorite C-drama

I just finished watching YAMG for the Nth time today, lol. It is my go-to drama if there is nothing that tickles my fancy. Why is this drama a gem?

1. It's short but oh so sweet. Only 30 to 45 minutes per episode. Thus, there are no stupid fillers just to lengthen the scenes.
2. Characters are realistically fleshed out. They are multi-faceted. Main leads are not just lovers, scenes also showed them as friends to their colleagues, beloved child to their parents and competent career people.
3. The love story is borne out of maturity. The scenes between FL and ML are organic. No tropes like FL falling to the arms of ML in slow motion, lol. The dialogues are witty and funny. Camaraderie and chemistry between leads are insanely good. There is a healthy amount of kissing and hugging, too.
4. Science stuff is cool. There were a lot of scenes on aero space engineering most of which i do not understand, lol. I was intrigued though. It sure looks fun to build something that can travel to space.

The advantage of a drama that is adapted from a novel is it's layered storytelling. I love the simplicity of its major premise: People can achieve great things if there is someone who supports and love them. There is a strong energy that catapults humans to reach for the stars when they know there is at least one person who believes in them and their dreams.

I closed my eyes and i hear the FL in Descendants of the Sun

Every time i watch an episode of NWBU, i end up falling asleep. The minute i close my eyes and i hear dialogues of FL, i hear the voice, tone and inflection of Song Hye Ko when she played the lead in Descendants of the Sun. Her character is obviously different in DOTS but her potrayal of the role in NWBU is very much the same as DOTS.

NWBU is an effective sleeping pill (at least for now). Insomiacs should give this drama a try. This might be your magic pill.

I am not dropping it though. I will just wait for it to be finished first so i can happily skip the boring parts, which i sincerely hope will not be that many in the succeeding episodes.
