imo, the ML isn't a red flag at all! 1) he's the closed to the emperor so he must have his guard up especially when it comes to a princess from an enemy state. 2) he clearly is on a revenge path so he considered everyone an enemy 3) its a an enemy to lover trope ofc he'll try to kill her, they knew each other for 4 days only, they are still strangers, logically speaking he won't be interested in her until he spends some time with her and gradually starts trusting her then falling in love with her.

imo you really don't need big names in the industry to make a masterpiece when you have a solid script and a director(s) who know what they are doing. Lots of kdramas with big names flopped, also lots of those "super stars" lost their touch and they are slowly being replaced with a new generation of actors.
Out of all Bai Lu's xianxia dramas, this one ranks at the bottom!! The drama feels outdated and the script isn't doing it for me after 8 episodes. Also, was she dubbed??? Cuz I've watched her dramas and you can feel the emotions and energy in her voice even with your eyes closed but not in this drama. Too bad :\\
