What this drama has ... 1) great casting: Everyone's in their best version of themselves. It's even difficult for haters to find a flaw in anyone's acting.
2) the OSTs and theme melodies are top tier. Going to stay in memories for a long time.
3) the football parts in the drama is a work of art. The director had to work hard to guide all the 13 main characters and the side characters. She nailed it.
4) dialogues are balanced & detailed, but never got boring.
5) the cinematography + color grading give it a really polished, uplifting feel.

Overall 10/10

This drama stands apart from every drama airing right now. Nothing too dramatic. No revenge plot. No punchy lines. No hot sizzling romance or kissing scenes that'll go viral online. Here the main characters lose a couple of games, dealing with several psychological trauma, they don't even have that main character aura tbh. Most of the characters here are simple. Like us and our next door neighbours.

And yet it's beautiful. The mutual trust between the teachers and the students, taking responsibility when there's none to support, rebuilding self worth, and most importantly the healing aspects of this drama making it more beautiful. The football matches + family storyline are well defined. The romance maybe a subplot here but the puppy eyes and loving glances between the main couple are enough heartwarming.

Hahaha yes. The drama version removed some fun parts in the novel, i was a bit upset, especially when the boys tried very hard to earn money for their gym memberships. Also that part where LWX found out the boys told their parents she's the reason they weren't getting time to study, it was to save themselves from beatings, but her reaction was hilarious. That's the moment the parents forced her to tutor the kids

Unfortunately some of the asian parents are like this

Agree. But all the major characters in this drama has flaws, that's what makes them real. This is a story of their growth; from being too stubborn to kind, from having bad communication skills to finally making friends, from carrying secrets and guilts in heart to letting it go.

His dad enjoys seeing his losing face. He hates his son

It's really frustrating and exhausting to have parents who don't respect your basic privacy. WCY's father even flaunting it that he deleted his msgs as if his mental and physical tortures aren't enough. FXS's dad was a criminal but his mom is the worst. Thank goodness his father died early and his mom left him alone, otherwise living with such psycho could make him a criminal as well.
