Last night I have a dream that I'm Seok Ryu. I walk alone at night on a very long and misty road. No one to be seen. And somehow I bring a very big backpack, it's so heavy. I somehow also wear raincoat.
Suddenly it's raining, so I open my backpack to find umbrella. That bag is full of silly stuff, from foods to toys to books and other miscellaneous things I don't know what. The mist suddenly getting heavier. So I bring out a headlight too.
I walk alone for a long long long time. The bag feels heavier and heavier. I getting tired, my feet lose their power. And suddenly a voice of a girl shouting from faraway in the back, "AH! I FIND HER!" When I try to see who is she, I wake up.
It's one of the most bizarre dream I ever have. And I feel so tired when I wake up. By body hurts.
This drama messed up my brain. I'll skip 2 weeks until we get at least two episodes that Haein called party. Have a nice watch, you all.
I expect simplicity. I get complexity. So far, not hate it. But I should change my lenses to enjoy it. Eomma Chingu Adeul is definitely a better title for this than Love Next Door.

I agree with she shouldn't dictate him. That's why I said, she should make conversation instead of complain. There is different of having boundaries and cut ties.
Yes, she has no authority. But because they are family and their action affect each other, she should have right to talk to his brother about her concern. The way she doing it was wrong, because she was frustrated (hope they have better communication later). Instead she should ask what his plan is, what the risk and what the benefit, and maybe giving some advice as sister.
Yes, Seok Ryu decision absolutely affect her family. And giving no comment to her is his choice (I have no complain about him). But him saying nothing doesn't make her right to talk to him into zero (still she should make conversation and not fight). I hope they will also tell the story of these sibling. I think their problem is so real, would be interesting to see how they will clear the problem between them.
I love moms friends group, their conversation reminds me to neighbourhood aunties in my hometown! Sometimes silly, sometimes dirty, sometimes so real, witty, funny, mix with jealousy but also with care and love.
The dads are opposite of each other, but together they are so funny and their contrast point of view are so great.
Actually, I see parents convo in this drama not as filler, but part of main plot, which is rare.

In her point of view, she gain everything by herself. She got full scholarship, so their parent spend zero for her education in uni. As a person that part time since HS, I believe she also support herself when study in US, maybe not fully, but not in point that burden her parents. She works in big company, she made enough money for herself. Like, she still able to pay her cooking school, etc. It's not like she quit her job with nothing to be nothing. She search her dream using money she made. While her brother search his dream using their parent's money.
Especially when they easily stop her dream, when they let him try so many things (we know because cooking is personal for them, but they projecting to her). It not a weird thing for her to feel that's unfair.
How can Seok Ryu not interfered with her brother decision, when his decision impacted her. If their parents have troubled with money after supporting his brother, Seok Ryu will give money to help her parent. "Even if he is manipulating their mom to get money, thats between them" <-- how can a daughter let her parent fall into wrong financial choice, even if it by her brother. That's silly. If her family get troubled with money, it will be her problem too. If her parents become devastated because of that, she will be devastated too, because it's her parents and her brother. That is family, their trouble can be your problem too.
I still think the way she communicate is wrong. She blame because she is frustrated, instead of make conversation. And you're right, parents are human too, they can't read your mind. That's why even with loud emotional voice, her wording her problem still matter. Seok Ryu has problem of keep every problem to herself. Kind of hero syndrome, or good kid syndrome, especially in her younger years.

Another thing that I love about this episode: Moeum and Danho parent behaviour. Especially Moeum, she goes from strange aunty to cool aunty to mom coded very fast.

I'm actually excited for Bae Hyeon Seong performance the most. In my opinion his character is the heart and soul of this drama. So far the trailer looks great! I hope they can adapt the story well. I have good feeling for this drama.
I love title change in episode 2 and 5 the most. From Hate (Mium) to Heart (Maeum), and from Go Back (Gobaekeu) to Confession (Gobaek). So clever and fun to looking for, like easter eggs.
