Nothing bad but nothing impressive either.
I haven't really been watching or writing reviews for a few weeks but I'm back at it again!! I'm trying to complete my watchlist 2026 but my school is a b. Respectfully, I do not like K BL but do always end up secretly kinda enjoying it. Although I really enjoyed this series it did lack quite a lot. Everything was ok, just nothing impressive or mind blowing. The plot was adorable, but not special. Everything feels very average and I did expect a lot more. Comparing this to other Korean BL, the same reasons why I often dislike them is in this one again.
I really adored the cute animations at the intro. The opening was in general super amazing and I love the creativity put into it. The director also made our dating sim, one of my friend her favourite BL and I will for sure watch it! The screenwriter doesn't seem to have another live action version of her webtoons. I actually read a lot of webtoons and I'm pretty sure I read this one a year or two ago. For me the main couple was so much more important than the side couple. To the point where I actually gave no fuck what the side couple did. Both their stories are average and you can kinda guess what way it'll go into. It's a bit sad it has such easy plots and also really surprising considering it's an adaption on a webtoon.
I lovedddd that Gi Seop got those hair extensions and did everything for Jin U. He basically started cross dressing a girl. Really reminded me of the song Andrew in drag. I also really dislike Hye Jin. She seemed so mean to Gi Seop but acted like an angel around Jin U. Actually, at first I really hated Jin U because the acting and personality reminded me of someone I do NOT like. Jin U ended up not reminding me of him and it was really just mz first impression of him. One of the problems I have with this series is the horrible introduction to the characters. I didn't understand what was going on in the first episode at all. It was like it jumped straight into the story. Maybe I was just tired.
I'm surprised I do not know any of the actors but I'm trying to get more familiar with Korean directors and actors. I hope Nam Shi A will get more roles since I noticed this was his first ever listed series. Immediately getting main lead is amazing though. He deserves more roles!! The rest of the actors also aren't in huge series/movies as main and I find that so sad because I really hope for more.
Overall this show was cute but it was nothing like mind blowing. It kinda felt like your casual BL but then with the slight cross dressing to impress crush (which I loved). I feel like it proves my point again about Korea making the simple BL when they have so much more potential. Since this comes of a webtoon it might've felt wayyy different in the webtoon and I have to admit, I didn't read the webtoon yet. I will for sure and hopefully I change my mind.
