She also acts very well, I've only seen her play bad people but somehow her emotional scenes always bring me tears.

You have a point, seems like the problem isn't with the writers but with whoever gives their paycheck, people who know very little about writing who think they know what the audience wants because of a laud minority.

Bonny and Enzo were my favorite couple, also liked Damon with Rose (still sad she died).

I never wanted Klaus Caroline together, but I always enjoyed their interactions (also love how the dress he gave her ended up on Legacies, the scene when Hope realized were it came from is by far my favorite on the show). Arrow and all the shows in that universe are a disappointment I rather forget XD. I'll definitely check Emma Poldark.

I tried Jane the Virgin too, forced relationships, "perfect" main character, inconsistency in everything from plot to characters, that show has a lot of flaws, but what killed it for me was how most characters were treated with little to no respect, if they didn't like the Jane they were evil, their opinions were only right if they agreed with her and unless things were done her way (or her mom's) it would always go wrong. I liked TVD as well, and am currently enjoying Legacies, but I'm still on the fence with this show, will wait a few more seasons until I recommend it to people.

"Once upon a time in wonderland" is pretty good, I liked it more than OUAT, "The Originals" is also good, if you don't mind violence, it has romance and sex but the focus is familial love, " Anne with a E" it's mostly cute and touching but it has the social message problem I mentioned in my comment. "Bunheads" only has one season but it is funny, "The mandalorian" it's good too, the love story there is of the father and son kind and I think it was well developed, "The umbrella academy" also pretty bloody but good.

For their pockets you mean, cuz if they where writing for themselves the result would be more unique stories and a variety of choices for the audience.

The kdramas I liked tend to be more about the characters developing as people and as a couple, while most western romances tend to be more about who's gonna end up with who.

That's also the problem I have with western shows, it's like watching porn without looking for it, and lately they have the added problem of trying to shove all social messages into the story, it doesn't always match the story and we end up with a butchered up show and a social message poorly delivered (that ends up being detrimental to whatever cause instead of helping fix it).

Same here, growing up my girliest tendencies where laughed at, watching dramas and interacting with other drama lover made me more comfortable and more open about this side of me.

The tiresome part is that it's like all companies want to do the same thing and only some of them know how to do it right.

I just wish there was more variation on the entertainment pool, that way more people would get what they like.

Lately, I've just stuck to Chinese historical dramas, most of the K-dramas I find are either mysteries, have mystery shoehorned into it, are about cheating, or are too silly for my taste, there are some dramas on my "plan to watch" list that I hope are good, but my expectations are pretty low, it seems like the industry has decided to move on from what grabbed me in the first place, cute uncomplicated romance with just a tiny bit of sexy.

Also very talented actress.

Also, she doesn't smile much on that drama.

I'm glad it isn't more serious, hope he recovers soon.
