I agree with you in the book yes Luke is part of the cause for breaking Flora down, but not in the drama! In the drama, Luke is much more amiable and communicative, sans him speaking his feelings. His actions are louder and obvious in the drama than his feelings in the book. Flora is fully responsible for her thoughts and actions in the drama... Besides Lukes foul mouth nothing we've seen should cause such distrust on Flora's part.
Episodes 17/18 were rage baiting episodes lol I always get annoyed when drama watchers hate on the FL but this time, I have to get on the stage and say Shang Zhitao is the problem!!!! I read the book I think I was so engrossed that I let a lot go but watching this drama made me realize Zhitao is an example of La Toxica! Bruh what? How can you expect someone to want to marry you? When you're not being honest most of the time and withhold all the time!
I think the both of them are in 2 different relationships with each other. Luan Nian indeed has nothing to fear because he's the boss but Zhitao is scared of everything and holds back everything.

They were outside too, they knew that fish restaurant well lol. But they didn't address the looming elephant and slight digs when it was happening, and that was the ultimate demise of the 6 years in my opinion.

This toned down version of Luke isn't really doing it for me... Jing Borang is so freaking handsome but they really should've given this character a lot more edge and a spicier mouth which is what made Luke the character you either like or hate. I also feel like they made Zhitao more timid than she was in the novel. Baby girl while, a terrible communicator in her private life was more playful, had a personality and was no pushover. She knew she wanted to be in a situationship with Luke and even suggested it first! This Zhitao is like a blank paper everyone is writing all over. Thankfully they gave her a bit of a backbone we're starting to see at the end in ep. 11.
if kdramas are 12 episodes i.e. 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks, then every 6 weeks you gotta come up with a NEW script…
The networks are to blame! MBC I believe started this to satisfy/attract the Netflix viewers. This has now made dramas like unrippen fruit that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. But there are some PD's that love the shorter format because they feel like they don't have to turn the story around. Pretty much they're enjoying feeding us utter half assed BS every 6 weeks.
