I don't read any BL's so there's that LOL. As an avid reader I'm well aware of all the details that get left out, & added or changed, when adapting the storyline to the screen. I would love some of the books & series that I've read to go to the screen & show me an episode for every chapter EXACTLY the way it should be, but unfortunately it will never happen LOL. I think MAME is great for writing the best & worst in all types of people. She writes characters that have tiny flaws to monumental nightmares but she also writes characters that understand them, fight them, accept them, & CHOOSE them. Are they healthy relationships? Probably not LOL but the best part about MAME is that everything she writes is NOT REAL & I have this nifty FF button to use whenever I see fit. I understand you dislike what she writes but there's a reason why the scene you described was not part of the screen adaptation. Clearly, there are many scenes & character changes that are omitted/changed for one reason or the other. Sometimes it's for the better, other times not so much. I try to separate the book from the screen. I also keep in mind that this is for entertainment purposes & if I'm not entertained I don't watch it LOL. Oh, & this story is shit. Lom's a lying douche-noggin, Nuea is a carpet, Yiwa is a coward, & Marine has no spine. So it may not be physical violence that you speak of but it is manipulation, lying, disrespectful, abusive & plain shit.
