Honestly, why isn't he getting more lead roles? He's such a hidden gem. He has the visuals, the acting skills, and the charisma. I love the established actors, but we really need more fresh faces as leads. Seeing the same actors in almost every drama starts to make them all feel the same. He's more than ready to carry a drama on his own.
It's good so far. I honestly feel so bad for the ML. Everyone treats him like he's the problem, but considering how his family has treated him, I can't blame him for being so cold and guarded. On top of that, he thought the woman he loved was dead, only to find out she's engaged to his brother. From his point of view, she exchanged letters with both of them while hiding her true identity. I don't know her reasons yet, so I'm trying not to judge her too quickly, but I completely understand why the ML is so grumpy.
My first republican era Cdrama! I started my historical Cdrama journey with Zhang Linghe in Story of Kunning Palace, and it just so happens that he's the ML in my first republican era drama too. π I just finished the first episode, and to be honest, the plot feels like a mess. It reminds me of Turkish dramas because of how dramatic everything is.π π Does the novel have a happy ending? βΉοΈ
I've never seen a man so scared of not meeting the standards of his loved one. I mean, if he can doubt himself, what about all those scumbags who are full of confidence? π€£π€£
