"Lack of consideration"? I don't know if you are queer yourself, but this is something really you can only understand…
I get that, but honestly you can't protect him from anything, he will go through shit because of it sometimes but he just has to brave, his already brave for just coming out. And it tends to be that in attempt to protect their child they just end up hurting them so they best you can do is just love them and be there when they go through whatever they do.
I am getting a bit sick of Asain shows constantly coming up with excuses for abusive and homophobic reactions…
It's irritating honestly, like when did everyone decide that being gay is something someone is supposed to apologies for. There is no way a parent can ever justify the abuse they give their children over something like that. Why can't you just see your child is happy, and let them be.
I also wanted to say that I was super happy to see Ou-Wen explain some of the parents challenges with a gay child.…
"Lack of consideration"? I don't know if you are queer yourself, but this is something really you can only understand if you are queer. There is no consideration needed for a parent who shames their child for loving. As a parent you are supposed to love you child, and support them, especially over something like this. Their son loves a man. So? Life is gonna be a bit more difficult for him but all they need to do is just be there for him, not use it as excuse to hurt him, and say the things they said. I find it as a queer person so irritating how they interpret that in TV, using such a thing like "you'll be hurt" as in excuse for the emotional and sometimes physical abuse(his mom literally slapped him when he was just telling her about someone he loves) is completely irrelevant. We don't need to show any consideration, ever, to the parent who can't just let their child be happy.
