Oof what a rollercoaster!
Keep in mind as you read this I am not nitpicky and I enjoy shows for what they are. This all just my personal feelings on this title.I was enthralled almost from the get go. There are so many emotions running thru this entire series. FYI - There are 41 rpisodes not 27. I watched this on Gagaoolala.
It is a bitter sweet love story that spans 110 years. I was never bored watching this. Annoyed alot but you are suppose to be. I my opinion it was well written. The jumps back and forth in time (forward and backward) were never confusing. They served their purposes well.
This is a story of love, deceit, betrayal, greed, and loss. I dont know how many tears I shed so be prepared for that.
Warning: There is rape and a coerced relationship.
Also some of the effects were not the best but I could overlook this as I did enjoy the story.

Almost dropped it but pushed thru
The first episode was absolutely infuriating. I was planning on dropping this 3/4 of the way thru it. I instead came to the reviews to see why I should keep watching. I was mostly convinced. I went to S2 to see how it would progress. It looked promising so back I went. I then found out the bullying was something that had actually happened. While I still found the basis of the series appalling and almost unbelievable, but knowing it was "based" in reality made me push through. I wanted to see this revenge play out because boy was it warranted! There were still parts that frustrated me to no end but overall the two leads won me over and kept me watching. Will I watch it again?Probably not. Would I suggest it for everybody to watch? Absolutely not. There are A LOT of triggering scenes especially in the first episode so be aware before you start. There are various scenes throughout that are hard to watch also.
Only you know what you can handle but know you have been warned!

Typical K-BL
I read the other reviews before watching this and was expecting a trash heap of a show. That may be why I liked it as much as I did because it wasn't any worse or any better than the typical 7 or 8 episode K-BL.I kept waitng for the cringe scenes. Still not sure which ones those were. There was one scene that did give off high school play vibes at the start.
Overall it was not bad and as with every short episode bl longer would have been better and the ending feels rushed, but that is the norm for most of the K-BL's I've watched.
The only thing I felt uneasy about was that Only One Of chose this story line as they have often been accused of queer baiting. It just seemed like an odd choice based on that.

Ended up loving this series
I don't really understand most of these reviews. I'm glad I didn't base whether or not to watch this series on them .Yes it is a slow burn and probably could have ditched an episode BUT I feel that without watching all the episodes you will miss out on what is happening with all three couples. There are some very real problems they all face. That is truly the beauty in this series. The problems aren't the usual tropes. They are real problems and they learn how to deal with them properly.
Yes I will agree that there are some parts that are just not realistic or are annoying but definately not enough to ruin what I felt was the main theme of the show which was the problems that needed to be dealt with each couple.
It is definitely rated NC17 for good reason. These scenes were done well as with any hetro scene of this type. Kudos to the actors, director and production team for well done scenes.
I personally would recommend this show. Watch it thru its entirety paying attention to the details and hopefully you will see what I saw and not miss what I feel alot if other reviews did.

Grab a box of tissues for this one
I really enjoyed this but my gawd I cried almost every episode. The writers built up the story lines just to tear them down and crush your soul. I'm not saying this is a negative thing beasuse the story demands it but be prepared!Having said that there were some frustrating parts where it seemed like the good guys just didn't try that hard enough and if they had a lot of sadness could have been avoided.
I rated the rewatch lower just because I don't want cry that much sgain for a while!

Over dubbing not for me...
I did not like the overdubbing at all but that is really about the only thing i didn't like. The story itself was cute. I do feel like there was probably some things lost in translation and culture. It won't be one i watch again due to how much the overdubbing annoyed me. I thought of dropping it several times but I wanted to see if the story panned out. If they do a second season as hinted at I mist likely won't watch it.
Hint: Read P'Thod's actors biography on Dramalist before the last episode. There is a joke in the end pertaining to his real life.

Cute Overview of the Thai Original
I was very excited for this "remake" but when I saw it was only 8 episodes I knew it was just going to be a little fluffy piece.I did enjoy this dont get me wrong but other than the sister writing a fan fiction about her brother there was very little that resembled the Thai Original.
I had hoped that this would bring K-BL's out of there sade zone but no it did not. There is SO much more to this story that if it were included would have made the fluffy story have more grit to it.
If you haven't watched the Thai version watch the Korean one first so you can enjoy it for what it is. It is a good but not when you have the Thai version in your head already!

This is Killing Me!
I was so excited when I realized that this was an adaptation of Addicted especially seeing there were 24 episodes. I thought finally gonna get the whole story!I am in love with this story. I watched addicted then read the book since I had to see what we were robbed of. This adapation is beautiful I have zero complaints. It is a cautious retelling which I can accept. There are obvious changes from the book but they are acceptable. I'm not going into them only because there are quite a handful so it almost makes the two stories cousins rather than the same.
Not gona lie when it ended I was frustrated at first, only because I was hoping for the full story this time. It does sound like they have a contract for S2. Keeping my fingers crossed it actually happens this time even if we get an open ending.
I am glad I watched the original and read it because I can still feel a sense of completion by stitching all three together.
I highly recommend this but be prepared!

A rollercoaster of emotions
I think I experienced every emotion while watching this series. Sadness, shock, annoyance, anger, frustration, happiness and joy. It was a rollercoaster. While I understand what the more negative reviews I found when looking at the entire picture it made sense the way this was written. I don't think the full impact of the ending could have been as powerful had it not. This show needs to be looked at in its entirety at the end to appreciate the rest.
While going through the series can be tough at points it all comes togther in the end. The viewer really needs to sit back and pay attention to the why's if they don't the ending won't be nearly as impactful because the character growth is immense, especially for the mother.
Yes, I did have issues with some things but not with what one would expect! My biggest issue was with the middle because it seemed a but unrealistic. I won't say more here I trust the viewer will understand what I mean as they watch it.
I think this show is definately worth the watch. Just remember keep an open mind and let the why's sink in!

4 epidodes too short
I don't know why I keep falling into the 8 episode trap. Most of them would have been much better had they chosen 12 episodes instead. These series usually start off strong and then fizzle after episode 5 or 6. The last episodes are rushed and dissapointing because we are missing so much explanation and filler that makes the story flow through until the end. After they decide to date the story just jumps pretty much to date 100. They are supposedly madly in love enough to get couples rings but we just don't feel it because there has been NO feeling of any romance. They are the same two sitting on the swings just talking like the best friends they have always been.
Those extra episodes we are cheated out of would have made the last episode so much better. We would all have been feeling the anxiety, the disappointment, and the joy together. Instead it was more like "Well OK. Thats a thing that happened."
Will I continue to watch 8 epidode series? Probably because every once in a while a gem does come along. Sadly though this was not one of them.

I really enjoyed this short series
First off I feel that most people who review on this app are tough...like actual critiques! I watch a show for enjoyment only so my thoughts come from there .I really enjoyed this 9 episode series. I felt it all wrapped up nicley in the end. Would more episodes make it better? Maybe but I also think more episodes would have started to make it conviluded and messier.
The only real issue I had with the show was how the split personaliy was portrayed at times. But again coming from a standpoint of entertainment only I let it pass.
The twist and turns kept me totally engaged. I hated to stop and having to come back later. I wanted to totally binge. But alas I have other things to do.
The acting was amazing. Each character was very believable and te actors seemed to understand their character well.
If you can watch a show without picking it apart then I feel you may really enjoy this one also.

By far the best K-BL to date
I really liked this series, it didn't feel rushed like so many K-BL's tend to. While it was still a college setting it just felt so real. The cinematography , editing, music and acting were above average for this genre. I was hooked immediately and it did not dissapoint. Was it perfect? No but it as close as I've seen!I have seen a few reviews state that some of the characters were unnecessary. I feel all the roles were necessary to get to the depth of the two leads . Without them i feel the leads would feel shallow and we would be left with the cookie cutter BL . This series just felt so fulfilling and complete.

Toxic and overrated
This was the first BL I watched. I watched it not to long after the episodes were all out. At that time I thought it was pretty good albeit problematic. Fast forward 3 years and I just rewatched it since a friend who just started her BL journey asked for recommendations. This one is not making the list!Half the cast is problematic. Except Champ - ok yeah he is my absolute favorite in this series and the next. I absolutely love his character! He's even better in the next one but sadly he cant save either of them.
Okay back to the story. For every redeeming thing that happens there are about 10 problematic things that follow. I did give this a 7 for the story because for the most part it was well written it just was a problematic story line and most things could have been handled sooooo much better.
The really sad thing is that they didnt learn anything! They do the same stupid stuff in the second one. I mean there is no trust or growth at all.
Well anyway if you decide to watch either of these you have been warned!

Love/Hate relationship
DISCLAIMER: My "reviews" are just my thoughts and feelings. I watch shows for entertainment only and can only write about hiw they make me feel.I have a love/hate "relationship" with this series.
I did not write a review for S1 as I binged both seasons in 2 days and after watching S2 I didn't feel I would do justice to either season seperating them. I was into S2 before I even realized it the flow was so smooth.
First off if you don't like and violence and can't handle blood this series is definately not for you!
I hated this show because people frustrate me on a good day and watching them in these situations wants to make me scream. Yes I know it is fiction obviously but there is truth to the behaviours.
I loved this series for everything else. I fell into it hard. That was easy to do. The characters were believable, the story intense and I felt it to the depths of my emotions.
It needs to be watched on your good days though cause it will make your bad days worse.
I gave it a 7.5 for rewatch value for 2 reason; First because once you understand it all some of the appeal is gone. Second because it is intense and emotional I won't be rewatching it anytime soon.
I do recommend this overall. It is just so gripping if you can handle the violence and blood!

Downhill ride of likeability
This show started off great for me but the more I watched it the less I liked it. I didn't hate this show but there are just a lot of things that could have made it so much better. It starts off cute and sweet with the unbreakabke relationship of the two nain characters. Then you see the complete codependancy that Eiw has with Cake. This relationship is even encouraged by the families. It seems that Eiw is completely incapable of doing anything without Cake.
Then Cake moves to the US with his family and encourages Eiw to actually get a life and learn to be on his own and make friends. This is probably the only right thing done in the writing of this series.
Eiw eventually is able to take Cake's advice. They do remain friends and keep in touch well. But when Cake returns he is upset Eiw actually took his advice and he couldn't just pick up where they left off 4 years ago.
The kicker though for the whole series is the last 2 episodes turn into a "Don't Smoke" campaign. I hate being preached to in a show I am watching for entertainment. There was not enough story line in these last 2 episodes for me to even really enjoy them.
The actual highlight of this entire series for me was to see Prem playing an adult especially with Between Us just coming out. The stark contrast between those to characters was fun to see.
Please dont misunderstand I love the actors and the acting in this series I just REALLY didnt like the writing.
