I know I bet he’ll be having a say over everything. The director Liu Chang is interesting though. He was director for Hikaru no Go and Dear Missy. Hikaru no Go was a big hit so hoping for the best direction here. Kinda hope that they stray a bit away from GJM’s style. Though it would kind of be interesting to see his take on Republican dramas.

But technically he’s not directing…. so we shall see

I hear they are filming 1 month in Shanghai and then 3 months in Hengdian’s Old Shanghai.

I think he has two identities. One as the assassin Baizhou and the other is Leng Wensheng. I’m not sure what occupation Leng Wensheng is, officer, commander, warlord maybe? But according to the plot summary, the assassin kills the commander warlord and tries to frame the quack doctor, probably Wang Yuwen’s character.

Honestly not a big fan of modern dramas, but if it’s investigation then I’m all up for it. Actually really want to see him in an investigation crime drama. I tried changing the synopsis but I couldn’t find the exact source. The synopsis had been going around Weibo but I don’t think it directly came from GJM. However, based on what ppl are saying about his duel characters being Leng Wensheng/Leng Shao and Baizhou, the synopsis seems to be valid. Apparently Baizhou is the alias of the killer.

Both haha it’s been too long. But I’m really excited for this one. I love republican dramas and I think Ruirui would fit this genre perfectly. Even though I think he fits best in gu zhuang/ancient costume dramas. Also the plot, though a bit cliche and questionable based on wording sounds intriguing. I’ll take
enemies to lovers any day. 😆 Also love Wang Yuwen as well.
