Familiar Trope, with a twist

I was wondering how they were going to justify the gap in time with no contact with the past, and it was as I had suspected. But by the end it looks like they have the obvious all twisted up and it's no longer clear what our kidnapped pianist knows or suspects. Love the way that the story is uses music to help us understand the identities of our characters and to move the story--so good!!!

Music: Integrated and Integral--wonderfully done

I love the way that the series continues to use music as part of the identity of the musicians and inhabits their sense of how they interpret their ambitions, sense of self, and relationship to others and their world. Pi-O continues to nurse wounds from his past and reacts to suspicions that he has about how his world may be artificially made. There is more to the jealousy-admiration-guilt axis that the four hands had experienced. I love the way that the story continues to evolve, twisting and turning all the while undulating with the music. Beautiful.
