As much as I love and I do mean love Pond, I sometimes feel that he is not acting in the same drama. His character is stupid, without boundaries, illiterate, careless, prejudiced and abusive. The only thing he has going for him is his great eyesight even while drunk. Yes, he has to bring all of these qualities but I just feel that Pond could dial back a little on the hysterics. He is an accomplished actor and usually lands all of his performances. Here it is a little too over the top for me.

I loved the standoff on the verandah between the two factions. Beautifully debated.

Just like that I went from feeling sorry for honey, to hating honey to liking honey to hating honey again.
Just like that an arrogant boy became vulnerable.
Just like that a scared boy became brave.
Just like that we got one of the best love scenes and ost.

This year China said, "Hold my coat. I'll show you how it's done."

Has anyone watched it?
It's okay. There are some good moments. There are some overacted moments. Very small production but good for the money spent. Now that the last ep has been posted, you get to watch in entirety without losing the momentum.

came here to say the same thing. his sweet innocence is making this work.
which i didn’t agree with but LXF is not 100% clueless. Pretending to be still drunk on his wedding night 😆 LXF doesn't realize that everything he does teases BLQ. BLQ didn’t know how much he wanted him until that moment. Still he could have used better judgement.

You have very good points, but if you flip the perspective you can also say that Bei Luqing grooms Lu Xiaofan…
I would agree with you had he not initially shown him kindness without the expectation of anything beyond his contract. Then when his friend openly criticizes his bias for LFX even though he doesn't like people like LFX, he feigns a response that seems passable to everyone but the friend. Given the option to leave, LFX reads between the lines when BLQ offers a plausible reason to stay. Also, BLQ was shocked the first time he cooked. Had he tried in some way to approach him or coerce him it would be different. He has always tried to protect and help him and not use him. The sister, initially protective of her brother, then switches when she sees the bond being formed.

3 out 12, I can't wait to see how this develops.

Title Smile after Tears Spoiler
I am not sorry but seriously he is irritating me. I do empathize with the loss he is feeling but he was half dead before and now when I'm supposed to feel sorry for him, I can't. His acting is like a very bad gripe.

While the aunt is rough, she doesn't want him to be clueless and helpless if something happens to her. She is pushing through and she wants him to be independent to not feel completely lost if she is gone. She may be his last relative. Plus if she really hated him, when he was aupposed to get the uniform and didn't, she bought it for him. She is just as scared for his future as much as she is feeling her loss also.

His friend, whom I suspect loved him first, stepped back from since he saw how much he loved the other one. Now that he is in pain, any friend would like to assist. He should have totally ignored him and then he might say the opposite. I understand in his pain, he will see things from a myopic point of view, but come on.

I like that the story is not the same run of the mill generic bl, but at this rate, it needs a few pints of blood.

I am trying to understand Itsuki after his behavior. I treasure his honesty but it had a funny way of popping up at his convenience. Yet, even now, it is still selfish at some point. Yes, their projected views are incompatible, but who goes along just existing? He knows Yuma types are the one to make the changes in the world but is content to live while they fight. I'm not advocating for him to be always on guard, and fight every pos out there but he seems apathetic and wants to be remembered. For existing? Yuma on the other hand still struggling to let go of the ideal.

Review Double Helix
I agree 100% with all of your review. Admittedly, I categorize bls by countries else I wouldn't enjoy most. My expectations vary.

This how I see it:
90% of China is very strapped for funds. It shows in the overally handling. Then add the voice overs...
Knowing that some have to go to foreign countries to be filmed, I am a little more lenient.

Thailand lacks originality or credibility as everyone, according to them, can 'act'. If I don't feel to sleep inbetween, it's a win. Not saying that there aren't good ones, but the script usually falls short. Cyclical or childish.

Korea makes good used of space but unoriginal and limited conversations with little intellect yet somewhere along the line, I still want to see the end.

Japan has the most consistency, money and creativity but can be as dry as crackers.

Taiwan is a flip of a coin.

If I were to judge all at the same level, more than likely I'd go back to European/ Western gay movies which can have a more realistic / painful end than Asian.

Sorry for being so long 🫢

I understood both sides of their relationship until Itsuki's cruelty. Unemployed, cohabitating and has the gall to be so disrespectful. I'm all for honesty but he clearly showed he had not one ounce of care for Yuma. If this is his true feeling, why stay in the home of the person that disgusts him so much and to embarrass him like that. A cruel petulant human.

Title Lost to You Spoiler
This episode has me confused 🤔 Did we jump timelines or what is this? How is he suddenly getting better, when…
The last ep the doc resigned but decided not to run anymore. This week it's just to show their strength in adversity. The "tumor" has been absent for a couple ep now, so since there are 3 more ep, it might make it's return next week. 🤔 Plus he seems to be holding up pretty well, after being sliced and stictched and proceeds immediately to sex. His ancestors may have been warriors. 🤣🤣

What is missing is the scriptwriter and director's lack of continuity and credibility. For example, where on this earth is it acceptable for an ex school dr to be locking lips openly with a much younger enrolled student on the school premises? Reality has left the script.

Once you accept it for what it is, the lack of sense will still not make sense but you will gain some sort of joy in the chaos.

Wait, so the girl outs the doc, gets his whole life wrecked, and now we're supposed to believe everyone's kumbaya-ing…
They are acting like since we are all gay, whether admitting or still in denial or gay adjacent, we are all friends now. The script is like fish on dry land searching for water.

There I was smiling all giddy and stuff and out of nowhere came that tatooed thong butt. The very loud sigh I gave. Why, like the plot isn't all flippy floppy already. The erratic limited acting is one thing, it has it's moments, but the butt just butted it's butt in and made me raise my butt up to pause this nonsense until I've had a couple drinks in and the nonsense won't register.

1. I still have residual feelings of slapping the brother. Idc if he did give him good advice.
2. I was about to import a spine for Yi Chen, then he got one.
3. Just when all is forgiven Lu Feng gets psycho. There is no one that can be everything to a person. Probably, he feels hurt for how much he gave up for him and yet still his brother is on his mind.
4. I can't take anymore roller coaster rides. I know they did this to make next week not predictable but I need a rest from the chaos.
5. I just want to see them both not crying for once. All the people that meddled went on to find happiness or are dead and they are stuck in a cycle that never rests. Yi Chen's escapism and Lu Feng's psycho mentality.
6. The one thing I liked from the beginning was that they only liked each other.

Title Backdoor Spoiler
am i too dumb to understand what's happening? can someone explain?
This is as far as I have gathered. The ml was close to his manager. The manager's brother ousted him from the company. The manager implicated the ml in theft which the ml doesn't believe. He believes the manager is framed like himself. The brother believes the manager, his brother, is the culprit. The person on the phone gave him the evidence to clear himself which is the brother trying to help the ml clear his name but doesn’t want the ml to know it is him. Their convo in the parking garage and at the exoneration meeting was a little suspect. Like the new manager / ex manager's brother was expecting the ml to say more. Eventually he found out it was him.

Awaiting more development

Zhou deserved the hell he created and died as he should but that scene was great. Over the top and too dramatic but a very good actor pulled it off well. Colin Duan did well.
