1. EP2 (2/4): Pat’s dad: Can you promise me one thing? If one day you can’t handle the heartbreak, can you go study abroad for me? Pat: Alright. Whenever the heartbreak feels unbearable, I’m not gonna push through it.
2. EP3 (2/4): Prem’s mom: I can give you the world, you know that? Prem: Whatever you want, just say the word. I can also give you the world.

Tbf, almost everyone in the series is manipulative and her mom basically enables her dad's controlling behavior. It's a pretty common pattern in many Asian households. Patriarchy at its finest
