How is the math competition relevant here? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
I think a lot of ppl misunderstood Pheem in that scene.

IMO, he wasn't bragging about being the best.

He was saying "I was always so good at everything, so WHY can't I be good at this, too? Why am I so out of control? Why can't I pin this down and win THIS, too? Why won't you pick ME?"

He was angry and in despair. He wasn't bragging.

I can't get over how Pheem actually caused the lightbulb to fall, yet they completed the scene completely naturally.…
I've noticed a few scenes like that, which were left completely natural.

One in particular was when Jira was changing clothes in the back of Koh's car a few episodes back. That scene really struck me. Everything that happened was perfectly, realistically natural. All of the physical movements, the sounds, the TIME it took to change clothes in such a tight space..... I actually posted a comment about it a few weeks ago because it was just great.

I LOVE that the director is keeping these moments in, instead of cutting them.

he's allergic to setting his phone to do not disturb mode too apparently
Ohhhhhh Japanese BLs are much, much WORSE about characters just staring at the screen while it rings and rings and rings and rings.

Much, MUCH worse.

I have almost thrown something through my TV screen because it is SO f*cking annoying.

Cute series. I liked the three main actors a lot.

BUT.

WHYYYYYYY in 2025 (now 2026) are dramas STILL being made where modern-day characters somehow CAN'T or WON'T speak up for themselves?????

As a Westerner, this kind of modern story pisses me off. There is NO WAY I would be able to sit there and take that from ANYONE - parent or not.

If you can't love your child unconditionally, no matter what their sexual orientation is.........

...........and if you are determined to dictate and control everything they can and cannot do even into adulthood because of your own ego or some bizarre sense of "tradition" or "honor," then WHY DID YOU HAVE CHILDREN AT ALL???

All you **really** want is a ROBOT.

Ep 5 (around the 56:51 time stamp)

I just want to give a shout-out to Tu. He is a huge GREEN FLAG as a boss, and shows that he cares about the welfare of his employees. He's one that more real-life bosses should aspire to be like.

Examples:

"Are you alright? Lately I feel that you haven't been as bright as before."
"If you need to talk, I'm here. I want this company to be like another home for you."
"Sometimes work can wait.......when there's something (personal) that needs to be dealt with right away."

Ep 3 -

When people give presentations to a crowd, they usually briefly fixate on certain people here and there in various parts of the room to give the impression they are including EVERYONE in their speech.

So in Ep 3......there's the scene around the 4:18 time stamp where Kamin is talking to a room of investigators, discussing the evidence they have about the case so far. He uses the same technique I describe above, fixing his gaze *very* briefly at the sides and in the center to include everyone in the room.

EXCEPT......when the camera pulls back a little, we only see ONE person at the long conference table, and she's sitting RIGHT NEXT to where Kamin is standing.

Then he does the same brief, fixed gaze thing as he's speaking around the table a few more times.

And then at the 5:11 time stamp, the camera pulls back even more and we see almost the ENTIRE table. It's COMPLETELY EMPTY except, again, for that one female agent who is sitting RIGHT NEXT to where he's standing.

And then at the 5:53 time stamp Kamin says, "Everyone, get back to work," as if he's speaking to a crowd of people. But again.......there are no other people. Just Jade standing next to him on his left side, and the female agent sitting on his right side. NO ONE ELSE is there.

So who was Kamin looking at and talking to throughout that scene?? LOLOLOLOLOL

Title Checkered Shirt Season 2 Spoiler
S2 Ep 2, Jeongwoo disappears with no explanation, which devastates Hangyul

S2 Ep 3 - Five years later, out of the blue, Jeongwoo suddenly shows up for a job at Hangyul's place of employment. He gradually begins hinting that he misses H and wants to get back together. H resists because he's still not over being completely abandoned all those years ago, and he doesn't trust J anymore (even though he still obviously loves him).

Skip to the end of S2 Ep 5 -

Hangyul is still resisting Jeongwoo. He's upset and says he'll just leave and start over again somewhere else. Then J accuses H of abandoning HIM all those years ago. But H doesn't argue or stand up for himself. He doesn't say "WTF??? YOU abandoned ME, jackass." (It's SO freaking annoying when characters do that - meaning, stay quiet instead of giving or demanding FULL clarification to avoid misunderstandings.)

Anyway.......back to 5 years EARLIER.........did H's asshole ex-boyfriend tell each of them lies about each other, and make each one think they'd been dumped?

Was J's friend, Jae-seop (we first see him in S1), also involved in their breakup all those years earlier? I sense that he has some unexpressed feelings.

They both lied to him. He's invested emotionally in both. Boom betrayal. I hate him so much
I think Koh is entirely self-aware. He's just unapologetic AF.

Guys I need someone to give me a disclaimer of how messy the plot is cuz I haven't started it yet and if its too…
"Also I am hearing a lot about the characters being manupultive morally grey type, how true is that ?"

Absolutely true. There's a lot of manipulation. It's toxic, but it's also incredibly sensuous and intoxicating. This series is unlike any I've seen. The directing, story and acting are all so, so good. And whomever they hired to choose the music for each scene needs a raise. It's incredibly well-curated.

I think the kissing was enough for this particular BL.

Anything more NC than that just would not have fit the vibe of the series.
