In the scene where the woman brings in the bloodstained baby Thup and asks the monk to take care of him......the camera focuses on the baby's face, and the one eye is discolored even then.
I wonder if that eye has anything to do with Thup's ability to see ghosts.
I'm just now starting to watch Ep 1. The opening credit scenes are really well done, and I love the opening music.
Great start. I hope the episode is good, too. I already know what a great actor Pavel is. I just hope Pooh is better - has more presence and oomph - than his character in both seasons of the Pit Babe series.
Another one of the things I really like about this series is the music they've chosen for each episode. It feels nostalgic, and really goes well with young angst and the island setting.
I loved this episode. Honestly the best one in the whole series.That sunrise scene? Them knocked out on the hood…
I *really* appreciate series that build in scenes like the one in Ep 7, showing Lava and Wave sleeping on the hood of the truck as they waited for the sunrise. I loved it when they woke up long enough to say Good Morning, and then fell back asleep. That was just a lovely little moment.
I don't need - in fact I don't WANT - there to be "action" all the time.
The quiet scenes are important, too, and especially when they have great cinematography, those moments create atmosphere and character bonding, and they help the characters seem more human, therefore more relatable to the viewers.
So Siwat is testing his powers, sets a raging campfire alight, and then runs off to tell Khunkhao that he has better control now.........leaving the fire burning.........and the episode never goes back the abandoned campfire?
Even after Khunkhao's earlier speech about how not controlling fire could burn down the forest???
It's just......dropped? Out of sight, out of mind?
He's supposed to be a "nurse" but on his very first day on the job, he was telling the doctor what to do - and the doctor strangely never objected - saying to give up on Alan receiving treatment and to just drug him up and send him to the mental asylum.
He seems sinister to me, in some way.

And why do people (his father, the doctor) keep telling Alan to write EVERYTHING down and be very detailed because they need to know EVERYTHING....?
It feels like people all around are trying to see if he remembers something significant (not sure yet what that would be) because there's some secret they're either trying to find out more about......or they want to protect some kind of secret and they're trying to assess how much of a threat he and his memory are.
The writing and directing are really letting the story down, and I almost punched my screen when Ice refused to say why he got mad at Professor Mint in Ep 3. (at the 4:30 time stamp).
Also, Ja is usually a better actor than what I'm seeing in this series. Tae is.....meh. But then he usually is. And there is ZERO chemistry between them.
Overall, I'm just disappointed. There are some serious topics in this series (rape, abuse by a person in position of power, forced sex work, bullying, etc), and the script (and acting) should be better than this.
I won't say namping is an excellent actor but I would say he didn't overdo things. Because actors who are not…

1) So while he was a full-fledged shaman, he was supposed to remain celibate?
2) ^^^^ If yes, how was it OK for him and Khem to have that one night where they.......manually took care of each other's needs?
3) When Peem lost his powers, he could THEN have sex?

4) But only for that extremely narrow window of time before he started the 5-year RE-study to be a shaman again? Do trainees have to be celibate?
5) RE: Chan and Jet - if they were considered trainees, were they also supposed to be celibate?
6) Back to Peem - After the 5 year re-training period was over and he was a full shaman again......was he supposed to continue to abstain from sex? Even though he was married to Khem at that point?
I feel like this is one of those few dramas where the ending didn't feel rushed. And I liked the little epilogue that rounded the story out at the end. That was great.
While I did have some quibbles with the series, overall I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I watched it.

I think Namping would be able to act any way he was directed to act.
But I feel like the director completely let the character of Khem down in that regard. Khem's current incarnation is not even close to the energy of his original female incarnation back during the war. SHE was lively and emotionally engaged.
