It is SO annoying when shows / movies get things wrong.
Hem tells Fifa that the snake that bit him was a "sunbeam snake" and that it's non-venomous. That's a real snake in Thailand, and it is indeed non-venomous.
BUT.......
The camera shows the bite mark, and it's two holes side by side. Meaning, a FANGED snake bit him, and the only FANGED snakes are venomous ones.
A sunbeam snake has a bunch of teeth on the top and bottom for grasping and making a chewing motion as it's trying to swallow its prey. It does NOT have fangs.
It was such a simple thing to check, so they could get it right. So either they didn't check, or they just decided to ignore reality and use "fang" marks for dramatic effect.
BY THE WAY.......in case some of you didn't know......
Santa and Aou, along with two other popular BL actors - Pond and Joong - have officially debuted as a T-pop group .
They released their debut song a few months ago under the name Project JASP.ER , but the word "Project" has been dropped and they are now officially known as JASP.ER .
The comments below are JUST MY OWN OPINION about the "special episode." But don't take my word for it. You may end up completely disagreeing with me. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
While I LOVED the series, this "special" was NOT worth the wait. For some reason the title says 2023, but I only saw it posted online in 2025.
In fact the episode actually made me mad.
First, it was boring and the characters, while still likeable, were awkward with each other.
You would think that as much as they missed each other, there would be some actual excitement once they were reunited, and sparks would fly. Especially considering the big sparks they had together in the series. But there was only ONE dead fish kiss at the very end and nothing else throughout the episode beyond hugs. Any other intimate scenes were flashbacks from the series.
I mean, if YOUR lover that you hadn't seen in a long while and thought you might never see again traveled across time and suddenly appeared not only before you, but IN YOUR BED, would the first thing you do be to: 1) pull an exaggerated "shocked" face for way longer than necessary 2) pace back and forth trying to figure out what happened and acting like your lover showing up was an inconvenience 3) finally relax only to greet him with FRIEND ZONE body language, instead of OMG YOU'RE HERE COME HERE SO I CAN SHOW YOU HOW MUCH I'VE MISSED YOU body language
?????????
Second.......what pissed me off the most is the fact that the writers decided to place far too much emphasis on all of the "technology" Khun Yai wasn't used to (robo vacuum, TV, cell phone, VR headset, etc), and to also make Jom's character act like playing on his cell phone and recording / uploading a Tik Tok style dance were more important than re-establishing their connection as a couple and spending real personal time together......talking, touching each other's faces, kissing, sharing warm and snuggly skinship, being more intimate, making breakfast together......before THEN taking Yai out into the weird new world.
Scent of Memory was just poorly conceived, poorly executed and a real disappointment for me, because again, I truly loved the series and Jom and Khun Yai as a couple. And I like the two actors, Bright and Non, too.
(Please understand that ^^^^ when reading my comment. I love the actors. I love the characters. But specifically in this particular "special" episode, I DO NOT like the way they were written. )
I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that - weird as it may seem - it feels like Boss and Noeul were much more comfortable in this special episode than they were in the actual series. I don't know if that makes sense, considering they've been a paired couple for a while and chemistry is never a problem for them.
What I mean is......and maybe I'm just imagining it.....in the series, for me at least, there were a number of scenes where they just seemed not quite connected to their characters. In those scenes it was actor Boss and actor Noeul, rather than Phu and Cir.
But in this special episode, they were completely connected and the scenes were great. I really enjoyed it.
I just started watching it and I'm at the scene where Phu's friends make the mistake of asking him a question about Cir. The look of self-recrimination on their faces when they realize they broke the cardinal rule.......NEVER ask Phu about Cir because once he starts talking about the unrequited love of his life, he will not shut up!!
Those of you posting about changes from the manhwa to the series....PLEASE click the SPOILER box when you post stuff like that. A lot of us have not read the original source material!
Right?? Compare his MDL pic (which looks like it's from years ago when he was still in his teens) https://mydramalist.com/people/71483-smart-chisanupong-paungmanee…
I'm guessing the first pic is when he was around 18, and the second pic is from much more recently.
I don't see any evidence of plastic surgery, to be honest.
But I did read that he's been working out a lot, so if that includes lots of protein, etc, then his body would get more muscular and his face would change (slightly) because of changes in fat to muscle ratio overall. Plus the fact that he's several years older than when he took his MDL pic.
He's 23 now, so his MDL pic definitely needs to be updated.
(And it's good to know I wasn't imagining their awkwardness re: Boss and Noeul vs their characters in the series.)

UGH. So annoying.
Also.....this series was awful, lol.

HAHAHAHAHA OMG that was so funny.
He's one of the main characters, but he's not even listed as part of the cast.
I tried to submit a request to add him to the Cast list, but it will only add him if he's already in their database.
So then I tried to submit a request that he be added to the database, but I can't even do that.
I gave it a 2.

Looking forward to watching more of this series.

And I have to say, the chemistry is CHEMISTRYING!!!
