Title Deep In
The actors in DI might have physical chemistry, but the emotional depth isn't NEARLY on par with TF. Not even…
The whole situation afterward still makes me sad.

Ep 2 @21:12 - I was ROLLING when one of the crew got so turned on by the actors doing the scene that he ran out of the room holding his crotch.

When stuff like that happens, it's incredibly difficult to take this series for what it's supposed to be, which is a spicy BL with a heavy psychological component.

The only thing missing from that scene was the stupid "comedy sound effects" that Thai BLs are so irritatingly fond of.

The MLs definitely have physical chemistry. No denying that.

But there's no emotional depth. At least....not so far. Maybe some will develop later?

EDIT: After Ep 3, I'm glad to say the characters are starting to develop more. Good to see that.

It’s giving me vibes of Top Form . I am literally seeing a version of it.

I was afraid to watch episode five because I was expecting high drama. Instead, it was devastating in a much quieter…

Am I the only one who gets the feeling there's something supernatural going on?

Like.....the rumor that when JP grants wishes, the person making the wish is beholden to him forever.

And when JP said he liked Jane Alee's drawing of him with black wings, it almost felt like (and still feels like) JP is kindof a demon or fallen angel. The way JP disappears and reappears......and it feels like he's manipulating Jane Alee and reaching inside his mind / soul a little.

And the way JP is always watching JA seems predatory.....

And at the end of Ep 1, that lightning suddenly cracked in the sky during the end credits.....

In the last few seconds of the final episode, I was half expecting the crack of a sniper rifle to ring through the air and Seo I-do to fall to the ground.

UGH.

I really hate bait and switch tactics, when you think you're going to get a somewhat serious drama - I mean, it started out with a bomb going off and a person rather gruesomely bleeding out and dying - and then you suddenly get annoying AF attempts at "comedy" (it's more like really bad slapstick) and dumb comedy sound effects.

Plus, WHO goes into the jungle on a stealth mission for the "cause," has to know a password to avoid getting shot, is told to stick to a certain area and be quiet, and then screams loudly when you trip and almost fall?

And then there's the whole trope of falling and landing on a potential future lover, then lying there looking into each other's eyes. That staring at each other thing lasted WAY too long.

I'm just under 16 minutes into the first episode, and I'm already so disappointed.

I love him. He keeps it real and leads Wayu right where Wayu needs to be.
I'm not saying he's a bad friend. I'm saying he's clueless and LOUD AF sometimes. I wish his character would just be quiet in some scenes. He could do that while still being a good friend.

After all, a typical P'Aof series. Too mainstream, too tame, not courageous enough. A cute little BL with young…
Considering Ticket to Heaven was somewhat delayed......I have a feeling the series was more daring but then because of pressure to "not offend people", it got sanitized a lot before release.

Just speculation on my part, though.

What is the meme that they are talking about in the beginning of the youtube video?
I'm not sure.

Wayu's friend Tai is SO loud and clueless about reading the room sometimes. I honestly want to slap a muzzle on his mouth so he just STOPS TALKING in some scenes. Good freaking grief.

RE: the finale - SPOILER ALERT for those who have not seen it yet

The MLs said they personally consider the ending to be a sortof wistful fantasy on Yin Qi's part, where he is imagining Pei Yanzhi is there holding the umbrella. They think Pei Yanzhi isn't really there.

But they also said everyone should interpret that last scene in their own way.

Personally, I enjoyed the series a lot. But I was a little disappointed in the abrupt ending and wished they'd had at least 5-10 more minutes to ease us into it, instead of cutting the final scene off like that.

But....with that kind of open ending, I'm hoping there will be an extra episode to give us a little closure. Fingers crossed.

They discuss it here (a fan added the English subtitles):

Also, who's that who hit Tae Jeong?
I think (?) that was Kentaro, the BIG bad guy's sidekick.

From the cast list:

Actor: Terada Takuya
Character: Kentaro [Mu Gun's right-hand man]

Ep 6 - so many twists and turns.

I guess I didn't check the cast list very well, because I was surprised to see Lee Jae Jun as the other contract killer. I love that he's getting more into acting now, since his start in CityBoy_Log. I liked him in that series (before they ruined it and I quit watching). He makes for a good bad guy in The Lie We Lived In.

Looking forward to the last few episodes.

But on a separate note....and I mentioned this after a previous episode......WHY is Tae Jeong such a physically weak and clueless "cop" ? It's ridiculous.

I can't even describe how much I love this series.

And the music is absolutely perfect. Beyond perfect.

SkyNani are incredible actors.

When the last episode arrives, I don't mind whatever their final "status" is with each other. All that's important is that their souls are still connected. And I want them to act together forever. The intense, oceans deep and deliberately ambiguous chemistry between them is unparalleled when compared to many other BL "couples." It's just exactly right.

--------------------------------------

Also.....side note (most, if not all of you, will probably not even know what I'm talking about. ).....

........does the beautiful imagery at the beginning of each episode remind anyone else of the graphics in a small indie video game called Gris? Or of the graphics in another small indie video game called Journey?

It's not exactly the same, but the melancholy and feeling of loss tinged with soulful beauty in both the opening scenes of the series and the two video games feel slightly the same to me.
