Madam Li has 6 biological children but her son was missing when young. QuingNo was the betrothed bride to her son but later she adopted her. The door plate was initially stated 5 but once her son came back and stayed with her, Madam Li changed it to 6.

I am a big fan of LMH but this drama is such a disappointment. The FL is looks so old, more suited to be LMH's mother. Uninteresting plot and scene limited to space, everything look so lifeless. Even if replaced by Korean #1 highest paid actor Kim Soo-hyun will not make this drama shine.

My favourite couple:
1. 3rd (I like that both of them witty, intelligent and schemy, what a delight to watch!)
2. 1st (both are highly intelligent, refine and resolve problem in such a graceful manner)
3. 4th (for her sincerity, pure and simplistic character)

5. 5th
6. Li's son+QuingNo

What a great family drama. The part where the son returns to Li family tears me up, especially the mother's acting. All the daughters show respect, steadfast love and gratitude to their mother and the mom persists with her undying love, care and protect her children. My rating, 9.5/10

All characters in this drama are very interesting especially the Li family. Each character was well portrayed. I love the 1st and 3rd couples for their intelligence in dealing with problem and other people. Absolutely a great drama! I rated it 9.5/10

Agree with you on this. Such heartwarming family drama. Story of Minglan is absolutely great in terms of plot, character protrayal, visual and storyline. It is one of my few most favourite besides Nirvana In Fire.

boring drama for the 1st half of the series with same place setting, clothing style and unnecessary supporting characters and uninteresting plot. The story only pick up when ML brought FL home, where most of the new characters acted convincingly.

Love..love ...this drama, especially FL+ML trying outsmart each other. The plot moves fast, not draggy.

I love her portrayal in this character too. Talented lady.

I can't stand the so called 'cuteness' of Li An, so childish.

I found it odd too why most KD have higher rating, usually above 8.0 even though they are just so so and very few good CD have that. I rely on rating to decide which drama to watch. Based on my understanding, that 8.0-8.5 KD score is actually equivalent to 7.5-8.0 CD score.
