He is beyond impressive. No point going over what he has had to face, everyone knows it. I just wish him every success possible, in his career, his health, his happiness. I hope all his family, friends and colleagues support him through, and all his millions of fans.
Unlike most people I'm finding the Mitsuru disappearance thing interesting. I can see it really was beyond devastating and cruel for Sakiko, but I'm dying to find out what happened and I'm totally fascinated how the characters are able to both absorb the sadness, be furious, stay sane and civil, be curious, and angry all at once. This drama is so well written and the acting is phenomenal. It's such a unique story, and the take on this situation is really unusual. I love how kind Itsuki is to his gorgeous son, and also to Sakikoi. The main leads are funny, and courageous, but pace themselves so well in terms of the other person. At this point I have theories about how things will pan out but it's not that certain. This is currently one of the best dramas I'm watching atm, probably along with The Affair was only the Beginning. lol
There seem to be a lot of filler eps, like some couples from previous years, and some recaps, some where the participants are already looking back at eps and commenting. It's hardly started, and there are not many firmly established couples yet, I don't really get it.
This is probably the only drama I would rate as excellent right now, unless I'm missing something. All the actors are giving 100% dedication to their roles, quirky, controversial, really unique. The story is unfolding from differing perspectives, where the characters make assumptions that are not necessarily accurate. And the action is propelled by these false assumptions. It's so refreshing to see a story free from tropes and conventional Kdrama copy/paste narrative. So great to see less anxious dedication to everyone "looking amazing" versus just telling a story, warts and all. I love how brave Kim Hyo Soo is when taking on a character, she's such a phenomenal actress. I'm really looking forward to see how this unravels .
Ahn Bo Hyun is wearing too much lipstick, he's got more makeup on than any of the girls.. It's distracting. Also his character was way more developed at the end of S1. Why does he have to start off as an idiot narcissist? He had grown beyond that.
Well, I don't think that the spouses of FL & ML were having an affair - they most probably were biological…
Watch Straight to Hell, it's fantastic. Also with Erika Toda, also Asura, The Hot Spot, The quartet. I also thought Romantics Anonymous was sweet. Also Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryourijou
Question before I start, is the female character like one of those super clumsy, immature women that we get sometimes...…
Thus far she's very highly strung, obsessional about her fangirling, pretty ditzy, and screws up all the time, ie gets drunk is inappropriate...the usual, not the sharpest knife in the cutlery drawer. but that's the nature of this drama, so like it nor not. But she's cute and likeable, and fun, and tries really hard.
wdym annoying disgusting old man who is that ? what did he do ?
This is about actor Kim Won Hae, who has been in a gazillion movies, has impeccable comic timing, and is totally brilliant. Never hesitates to commit totally to his character no matter how gross or silly, is sometimes a bit irritating is some roles but he never succumbs to the Korean "looks" issue, he just totally immerses himself in his role. He's utterly fantastic.
I feel sad for that one plus size character. Why is he the target for all the fat jokes and teasing
Same, it really is the only part of this drama that's not working for me .It's a cliché, boring, cheap comedy tactic, incredibly insulting and I agree with the comment about hiring the actor to get ridiculed for being overweight, sad!!
on ep 13, I'm watching for Tan Jian Ci, this drama is a bit less interesting than his previous ones, but still cute. I'm not sure of video boy's name, but his parents are beyond invasive, I'm sure it's supposed to be funny and cute but I find them revolting. I really get why the girl was turned off. I'm sure he'll redeem himself and find independence etc, hopefully sometime soon.
No because the REAL insanity of this show is that it keeps pretending it’s about destiny and romance when it’s…
Wow, you have summed up all the complex nuances so amazingly. I wonder if even the writers are this aware of the multi layers of this story. I seriously so much enjoyed reading what you have to say because the craft of a drama is so fascinating to me. How a group of creatives manage to put a show together that requires so much thought and reflection right through from casting, script to cinematography. So agree that ML characterisation is all over the place, as is FL (one minute she's a regal, powerful, switched on, hyper aware, take no shit, woman operating in an era 300 years in advance, then she's a vulnerable weeping, damsel in distress. But that vacillation and lack of strict, conventional rigid stereotyping which are the bane of many kdramas, which makes them so boring and predictable, is in essence what makes this show hysterically funny, it's all over the place without a coherent narrative. But that chaos is the method of making statements about life, values, etc as you point out. Congrats.
