i have it on my list, i have anything Jeremy (and Chen Kun) on my list. i agree with you on every point. about the romantic leads i think it's more because the target of the show are usually teenagers or girls in their early 20s and producers want to sell

Jeremy's best and most versatile role is still Yuwen Hu, i wish he picked more morally grey roles like that than romcom hero roles. but you can't have everything (still don't understand what's wrong with mature men, but many fans are also very young, i wouldn't hold it against them)
told you, it works in mysteryous ways. they don't always tell you why things get shelved or delayed. it may be because of multiple reasons (scandals, censorship, arbitrary cheange of roules). then they release old dramas at once (like this summer)
the way of CEnt are mysteryous ahahah. the first photo here on mdl is from 2020. considering that it took more than 5 or 6 years to some dramas to see the light it isn't even that long. you need patience if you want to be a C Dramas fan
Were the drama's costumes the Song Dynasty? Of all the dramas with the similar women's hair/makeup, Min Mi's hair/makeup…
the costumes are definitely song dynasty inspired, whether the drama is set in the actual dynasty or a similar fantasy one is another pair of shoes (to avoid censorship in case they took liberties with history)
