basically it's the same story. they changed the Dynasty into a Ming-like and instead of the imperial family you have the emperor's brother's family (kind of interesting, we never see a prince in his fiefdom)

if you are Fan Bing Bing fan and want to see her in Tang Dynasty clothes again, this is your drama. not much historical accuracy but plenty of harem plots and in the end heads will roll

the journey of two strong women from noble naive young girls to the imperial throne, but love might taste bitter

just few details link the second season to the 1st and sadly it's not as trong and epic as the first one
