Some people commented about the female lead - but i find no fault with her. I can see how she was Sang Ha's shinny bright sun who offers him hope and warmth when he is hurting. no doubt the drama placed more emphasis on the growth or unravelling the story of the Hae Joon and Sang Ha and probably fail to portray the FL's own journey. but to me, what is chosen to be told in the drama is good enough.
surprisingly light heartedly entertaining. however at the moment i am more drawn to story of the younger counterpart. i feel its too cheesy for the older actors to still be so - so kiddie.
i love this remake. have all the feels, family bonding and well crafted story which tug at the heart strings. i have watched a bit of the original version, but i still prefer this korean version, maybe because it is too the point and no deviations. i guess i have not much patience to sit through a 40 episodes drama esp if time is wasted on fillers. in terms of ML development to liking the girl whom he grown up with - was believable. of course how the FL develop her feelings for him was not properly fleshed out (hence the setback of having shorter episodes to tell the narrative!) I liked how the ML confessed his feeling and made it known repeatedly to the FL after the time jump and being away. Comparatively,. i recall watching the original C drama where the ML kissed the FL while she was sleeping, now that was so creepy. I liked how the 3 "siblings" interact with each other -it was very clear that Hae Joon behaves like a brother to Ju woon. but Sang Ha, clearly draws a line despite how Ju Woon insist they are family. Overall a very good watch, emotional at times and a beautiful story about what it takes to be a family.... whether blood related or not.
hmmmm is it me but i am at ep17 and feel that a lot of scene are disjointed - like patched together just to show off some latest prowess or upgrades attained by the main characters? also shocking the death of lunar sect leader was death with nary any emotions from FL and his only daughter? also trying to figure out the relationship between Ji Yang and Sen Luo and why Sen Luo kow tows to JY when he is the one who is possessing him? Anyways, ZLH definitely rocks in on the dark side.
i may be stepping out of the line here... but everytime ZLH 's character helped FL - the way he stood behind FL to channel his spiritual energy through her to wad off some baddies, or the way he was trying to subdue the genie within her during the confrontation with the moth queen... the filming was poetry in motion.
i am at ep10 and cant wait for more episodes to drop. i almost dropped this show as the first couple of episodes seemed a bit silly- i was afraid it was going to be another princess royal. thankfully it isnt and i am so happy i gave this drama another chance. the story is interesting and caught my interest with the right amount of angst, drama, romance and comedy. I am also particularly drawn to ZLH.(a big fan since SOKP). he is very fun to watch as he is given the platform to switch between silly, and serious, cold, and aloof, kind and swoon-worthy in his portrayal of Shao Chang/ Jin Yang. i think he was able to give his character a lot of layers, and i cant wait to see the story unravel. As for the FL, my first time experiencing her and the character is well played. suffice to say, i am hooked and do wish more people could give this drama a chance.
It was a metaphor for what happened between them. . He understood better what he had done and what the situation…
yes i got that part. in fact the puppet play seriously put everything into perspective for me. however, since ML was pining for his lost love and probably feeling guilty, and the fact his uncle, his assistant and his bestfriend said they needed to do something about the pining. so i thought, they were going to cheer him up ..
can someone enlightenment me about the puppet show? what was the whole point his bf and uncle staged it? i thought it was supposed to cheer HT up but he cried when it brought back memories
i have yet to finish the series.. i am about 20 episodes in. i won't say it is mind blowing storyline- mid pace i would say, but i certainly enjoy the banter and lovey doveyness with the leads (big fan of zzh). That's why.... i am so surprise this series got picked up by Netflix malaysia, while ZZH other work, Story of Kunning Palace, didnt. Sigh
also trying to figure out the relationship between Ji Yang and Sen Luo and why Sen Luo kow tows to JY when he is the one who is possessing him? Anyways, ZLH definitely rocks in on the dark side.
