Ever since watching Lovely Runner, Brewing Love, and Hidden Love, I’ve been searching for a modern rom-com that gives me the same heart-fluttering rush—especially as a xianxia fan who loves sweeping, emotional romances. And this drama delivers effortlessly, wrapping me in its warmth and leaving me giddy with every episode.
The sweet, aching longing between the leads—so close yet unable to confess their feelings due to circumstances/fate—has me utterly hooked. I find myself counting down the days for new episodes, completely invested in their journey. Now, at the halfway mark, I’m on the edge of my seat, desperate to see how their story unfolds. Hope the rating improves!
i pass on this drama earlier when it was running as i was not familiar with the leads. but then after watching clips with Ryan Ding Yu Xi and Meng Zi yi- my fav, i decided to give the series a try. currently at ep11 and wow.. just wow... visually arresting. not just the cast but the whole production. i especially love close up shots of the way the director zooms into the character's lips to show the slight smile.... very interesting indeed. also dont get me started on the fighting... poetry in motion. so far the storyline is keeping me up late into the night.
They have had a connection since childhood (Jinxiu and the Camellia). When Jinxiu was watering the flower and…
i appreciate you taking the time to give me perspective. to be honest, i did notice his attachment to the flower, his companion, growing up while being molded to be a ruler. I guess him going beyond to watch over her and protect her is love? Granted he is such a "boy" when he is in love. he is showing a different side of him. But still cant seem to fathom how hong ning came to love him. she was always talking about repaying him. then suddenly it was Love
just started rewatching again after the first couple of episode. currently at ep10. i still cannot seem to link how Jinxiu can suddenly agree to marry Hongning - i mean he should know better how strict his father is and there should be more contemplation as he came across as a real serious character who is fair and uphold justice. and then there is hongning - dont know how her admiration suddenly turn to love? she claims after experiencing the life of a fallen deity she has discover what love is. that episode was so choppy i cant even follow what was happening. someone please clue me in, is there something i didnt see?
ep14 was soooo boring. it was a masterclass in science, and astronomy though if you are into these things. i will now call ep 14 as the time when the FL and ML went into an escape room.
i can't believe i am still obsessing over this drama. came across this youtube short and its very cool. shows the parallels between YSY and MCQ/RR relationship- https://youtube.com/shorts/z2ECdVC9iOY?si=91Bl8_dx6CC6K7Dn hope this drama gets the recognition it deserves
Maybe because the two share the same scriptwriter and director >< I also got reminded of it, even the endings…
same.. i also have the same feels esp during the wedding scene. the look, the vibe....send shivers down my spine. it did remind me of love and redemption too
If anyone is on the fence about starting Love of the Divine Tree, just try it because you will be pleasantly surprise.…
agreed. i am blown by it. and i thought i was getting bored with xian xia genre, or that this is another butchered edited story. but it is not. it was soooo good. i thoroughly enjoyed it
so an honest take. i think the drama started of real great, and they are really good moments.. but now at about ep 20 onward, when they was so much building up to the big reveal, i am finding it lacking of something and i cannot place my hand on it. I mean the story is meant to let us feel something, and dont get me wrong, there are a lot of moments where it's supposed to illicit some feels, but i am not feeling it- unlike the episodes where they showed the back story of how MQG and SYS met. i feel that the editing is to blame for this. things are happening so fast, we as viewers are not given enough time to feel for the characters. eg the big defining moment when RR realised how much si fu has done for her, or when he got seriously injured and she tried to save him the moment was so brief.
