FL was at his ex's wedding and we saw her coming back from her honeymoon. How could they still be married
Oh, i didn't get that, sorry ! But still, when asked if he wanted to give money for her wedding, he told FL "would you give money for you ex-husband wedding". It could be a misdirect, but i still think she's his ex
I am really enjoying this so far. Contrary to popular opinion here I think that Kang Minhas ex did nothing wrong.…
I agree that he did the right thing by leaving her when he realized he caught feelings for someone else. But telling his friends, in a group chat, that she got on her knees and begged him to take her back was a jerk move. I don't like that the writer felt the need to turn him into a villain by doing this, it doesn't feel consistent with the mature way he handled the breakup
It being insensitive and it being part of the actual efforts made by Israel to justify the genocide taking place in Palestine is still not the same thing.
I think a lot of people are being really ethnocentric in their appreciation. The situation in Palestine is front and center in western politics right now, it's not the same in asia. The mention of Palestine is present in the webtoon, because for a long time the middle east has been the go-to example used in fiction when talking about military conflict in far-off countries. It was surely adapted without a second thought, even though the situation has changed drastically in the years since it was first published.
Should they have modified it in regards to what's currently unfolding ? Yes, i think so. But accusing them of being part of the zionist propaganda machine is excessive imo.
I keep suggesting we remove ratings for airing dramas
This is a great suggestion ! So much complaining about ratings being too high or too low and not enough discussion about the actual dramas being aired.
Imagine if you were free to only watch these Netflix and Vikki K-dramas, and people who enjoy them were free to watch the Amazon and Disney plus drama that you find so dumb. How nice that would be.
So you wouldn't mind casting actors with dark skin in a Victorian-era setting either? When you create a fictional…
Except it doesn't take place in 16th century France or 17th century Spain. The manhwa takes place in the West empire and the East kingdom, in a completely fictional world where magic is real and people turn into birds. Is the setting inspkred by Europe's pas ? Yes. But it's not as if she's playing Marie-Antoinette or something
I saw the show in a completely different light, but i want to thank you for the way you worded your comment. It's nice to see someone expressing their disapointment about something other than the lack of any kind of physical intimacy. I do feel that this is a gay story, and don't share your need for unambiguous dialogue, if only because ambiguity is often the starting point of queer stories, especially in countries like Japan or Korea where being queer is not as easy as in my own. But i see what you mean, and i like that the show afford us the occasion to have this kind of discussion.
There is a high level of emotional intimacy between these men. I see a lot of people in the comments obsessing over kiss/no kiss, as if that's all there is to a relationship between two men. It's lame, and a bit insulting as a gay guy. I don't know if it can qualify as a "BL", but it's a well written, well acted story about love, longing and growth. It might not satisfy typical BL fans, but we need more diverse queer stories
