I saw the show in a completely different light, but i want to thank you for the way you worded your comment. It's nice to see someone expressing their disapointment about something other than the lack of any kind of physical intimacy. I do feel that this is a gay story, and don't share your need for unambiguous dialogue, if only because ambiguity is often the starting point of queer stories, especially in countries like Japan or Korea where being queer is not as easy as in my own. But i see what you mean, and i like that the show afford us the occasion to have this kind of discussion.
There is a high level of emotional intimacy between these men. I see a lot of people in the comments obsessing over kiss/no kiss, as if that's all there is to a relationship between two men. It's lame, and a bit insulting as a gay guy. I don't know if it can qualify as a "BL", but it's a well written, well acted story about love, longing and growth. It might not satisfy typical BL fans, but we need more diverse queer stories
ikr!! what was on his mind that he made such a move, and if we see he kinda knew that hui ju has feelings for…
There's a difference between him changing his mind when he's been in love with her for years, and holding back because of all the reasons you rightly pointed to, and her suddenly deciding to marry him when she never considered it. In his case it's mustering the courage to go after what he wants, in her case it would be a total 180. He proposed when she was in the hospital and she didn't even consider it, he should know that I An or not she wouldn't get with him
Nothing ! His ex accused him of forcing her to have an abortion a few years ago, but was proven to be lying about it. And recently he was one of the many actors accused of tax evasion through a one-person agency, but no charge were filed against him

It's just a really common trope in manwhas
