Well... I think in the original novel, the primitive one, it should have been Xiahou Bo the ML but he might've had too much tragic past and must had a hard way to get the empire... But not sure about the FL, guess it would've been Xie Yong 'Er by her being saved by XHB and together they saved the world from Xiahou Dan... Not really Xiahou Dan but the Yan country as the main villain.

Then I think, in the primitive novel, all the hardships the original Yong Er went through must be because of Wanyin as she was jealous. Since, the transmigrated Yong Er knows these, she must have turned against Wanyin and made her fall into her schemes at the end, made her hated by XHB who Wanyin loved so much and did everything, and died by their hands. So, I think the day XHD died was the day Wanyin died too. And, that must be why she was thrown into grave along with XHD. We also never knew who XHD loved in the novel. My guess would be, he loved Wanyin there too and so, he must have went along with her to scheme against Yong Er and XHB that made him a even more villain.
