Such a stupid ending. They took a wonderful series and screwed it up. Aey had no ending. Needed to know more about…
I would suggest Aeoy did have an ending - success at the cost of his conscience and well-being.
This was not a fluffy, everyone-gets the-appropriate-happy-or-sad-ending, instead this was rather more realistic in that ‘villains’ can prosper and not everything works out for everyone.
The ending was a little tongue-in-cheek which veered away from The prevailing tone of the piece and unfortunately, did leave it on a discordant note.
I actually really like her in this. She's a good match for Allen Ren in terms of energy and charisma.
Agreed! Her character is meant to be bright, sunny and optimistic - a counterpoint to Gu Chuan - despite her sad background, and that comes through very well.
If I see ONE MORE DRAMA where the ML’s smart, polished, successful female subordinate/colleague is shoehorned…
Really good (despite my moans) - I actually highly recommend it :) However you should know that I would watch a documentary on paint drying if it had Allen Ren and Xing Fei in...
If I see ONE MORE DRAMA where the ML’s smart, polished, successful female subordinate/colleague is shoehorned into the role of jealous, manipulative SFL... I’m going to SCREAM :( (My Little Happiness, Sunshine of my life to name just the very recent ones...)
A prolonged misunderstanding that had no reason for being beyond ‘we need some conflict here, guys’. It wasn’t something that needed a big discussion or something that was difficult to explain.
your comment makes me eager to watch this. thank you.
Thank you! However I must admit that I got to about episode 20 and it started to go super-tropey (in a not good way - some tropes I just love) - in the end I skipped forward to the last 5 episodes and just watched those but that’s just me...
As an aside to that, I love Zhang Han and I really like Xu Lu but in the end I am not sure they worked 100% well together.

I usually prefer Xianxia but I do love Legend of Fuyao as well as Word of Honor ;)
