Poor Na-bi. Also, foolish Na-bi.

This ep (and all the others before) worked for me, likely because I didn't read the webtoon so there's no interference. I think the writer et al made deliberate choices about how the plot progresses and the character development (or seeming lack of) of the leads. There aren't many K-dramas are built around this kind of toxic situationship. Usually falling in love is the endgame, everyone lives happily ever after and the male and female leads are forgiven all their sins by viewers. There will be no such redemption for Na-bi and PJE.

My feelings about PJE remain the same: an ass. Do Hyuk is such a sweet boy. Na-bi does not deserve him. He should get his heart broken so he can move on from this first love business.

I'm royally pissed that Kyu Hyun is going to have less screen time. Kim Min Gwi bodied the character. I'll be looking out for him in other dramas if the outrage machine hasn't permanently wrecked his career.

PJE about to go from Manipulation 101 to 401 real quick. And now there's another guy in the picture and a chance that Na-bi could move on from him? He's about to push every button on that woman (literally and figuratively).

The glimpse of PJE's backstory didn't rouse anything in me. He's still an ass imo. When it seemed like he was letting the butterflies go, I might have tilted to him a little. But he didn't and is still using them to pick up women.

Whether Na-bi falls for Potato Boy or not, it's nice for her to experience affection and care that doesn't come with a side of pain/anxiety. Can't wait for next week to see what happens with the side characters.

The pacing was 10/10; not a second wasted. Revenge on this scale? Sweet. That soldier, especially, got what he deserved. This was totolly worth the wait. Hopefully there's news of Kingdom 3 soon.

Title Racket Boys
I remember reading a comment when the show first started about how having romance mixed in would ruin the show. I partially agreed at the time. But it's been so well handled that I've changed my mind. It's nice to watch these young characters discover and navigate their feelings without it becoming the focal point of the show.

Ep 14 is my favourite so far. Han Sol's scenes turned me into a blubbering mess. She stepped up. If she wasn't ready or kept a defeatist attitude, nothing Coach Ra said would have made a difference.

A drama/movie adapted from a webtoon or book does not have to follow the exact plot. It just needs to tell a good story for the medium (and Nevertheless is doing a good job so far). You will drive yourself crazy comparing everything the characters do or don't do with how they are in the webtoon.

Given their history as shown and where Na-bi's head is at currently, she and Potato Boy have the right amount of (not enough) chemistry. Do you guys want to kill the poor girl? If she had half the chemistry she has with Jae-on with him, won't she combust? I think the "lack" of chemistry is deliberate. I actually see Na-bi making an effort and going through the motions to make herself like him. Whether that will result in her developing feelings remains to be seen.

Jae-on is a super manipulative asshat and I don't feel an iota of sympathy for him.

Nam Kyu Hyun's voice should be framed and hung in a gallery.
