I agree, it’s definitely personal hate at this point because her versatility in roles like Love Game and MJTY speaks for itself. Since haters will complain regardless of what she does, I think it’s best we just trust her choices and support her growth in both modern and historical dramas

Rather than hoping she will improve her abilities and recognizing that Esther is a human being with insecurities , you limit her by already asserting that she can't do modern drama and that she should stick to historical drama . Telling an actress to restrict herself to one genre just because you dislike a haircut or camera framing isn't constructive criticism .
Also , it’s a constant double standard . If she doesn’t focus on her looks , critics will attack her appearance instead of her acting . But when she pays attention to styling , people turn around and say she’s overly worried about her looks and not focused on acting . Finding that balance takes time , but she is already in the process of growing and working on it . Writing off her potential in modern dramas completely ignores her actual progress as an actress .

I think it's quite unfair to pin all styling and camera choices on Esther or assume she's overriding the team . Directors , cinematographers and professional stylists are the ones who make the final decisions on framing , lighting and hair or makeup to serve the show's overall vision . It's not just an actor demanding specific angles to hide their face .
Also , it's unfair to compare her look directly to actors like Aimi . Different dramas , characters and concepts require completely different visual direction and what works for one role doesn't apply to another . Attributing repetitive angles or hair choices to an actor's insecurity ignores the actual creative control and responsibility of the production team .

Though I agree with the one angle on her, I think it's a bit presumptuous to assume that was Esther's idea. Directors and cinematographers make the final call on shot selection and camera angles. Even if an actor suggests something, the director ultimately decides whether it serves the project's vision.

though I agree, but only with her role as Lin Wanxing in Road to Success. I feel as though her approach of the character has some hesitation, where she understands the character but hesitates to truly put herself in the vulnerable state that Lin Wanxing is in.

The only direction she can go is up and forward. Like any other people, Esther will always thrive to be better. Though, I feel like her performance shouldn't be evaluated on her performance alone. An actor's performance is affected by many factors such as the script, the director, environment of the whole production crew, edits of the drama, etc.
I also hope she gets the chance to star in dramas that truly center on the female lead instead of constantly favoring…

The promotions is actually weirder because we see them as Neo and Ai Mi not as their characters. I also remember they filmed another drama before this, it was Fangs of Fortune, she was probably 14-15 yrs old there 😬. They weren't paired together but she was paired with a 21yrs old. Her agency and parents does not protect her enough or is just exploiting her for money 🤷♀️.
