As someone who hasn't watched the Kdrama or read the original source material, I can't tell what the differences or similarities between them and this adaptation are.

Gu Renqi as a character was the usual rich male lead with a trauma. While I did not find his trauma convincing enough at first, I eventually understood it. I also wasn't fond of the fact that everyone around him kept saying his grandfather cared for him as it seemed absolutely nothing like that. It only looked like a selfish grandfather created to make the male lead mysophobic. The way it was settled out was also really quick? Especially since his grandfather never looked like he wanted to give Renqi the closure he needed.

Shi Shuangjiao is also the typical female lead. At first I thought she had a character of her own but at the end, it seemed like she existed just to be a partner for the male lead? There wasn't much I could get from her character.

I'm not sure if they made Lu Xian so dislikeable on purpose, because there was literally no story about him except from the fact that he liked Shuangjiao. Also trying to sabotage their relationship while acting as a therapist was downright low. There were redeemable moments but nothing could really make him better in my eyes after that.

I don't have much to say on Qianqian and Dongqian but I thought they were cute as well.

Wasn't really fond of Zhu Yan and Junjie. Not sure if it was because of how their story was written or how their characters were written.

It seemed like they forgot about the antagonists along the way and the whole story was dragged on for longer than it could take.

The OSTs were beautiful and made it all the more worthwhile.

Overall, this was a sweet, yet simple drama that was able to take me out of a short-lived slump. I hadn't expected much from it but it gave me exactly what I needed. The chemistry of the two main leads were off the charts and their moments they had me grinning from ear to ear. The downside was how simple, predictable and forgettable the plot was. After episode 18, I was wishing the drama would end sooner.

If you're looking for a cute drama without the deep plot and complicated storylines, then this is definitely for you.
