The story is about more than her adultery alone, and I don’t think that one subplot should eclipse everything else the show is trying to do. These are all pieces of a much bigger puzzle.
True, she isn’t just someone who made a bad choice once. She continues to spiral by actively hiding the truth from her husband, stealing evidence, and going to great lengths to cover her tracks. Even when she acknowledges that what she did was a mistake, it feels more like regret over the consequences rather than genuine remorse for the act itself. Those are very valid reasons to dislike her as a character.
I do agree that this complicates the image of these three women as “powerhouse” figures who are above reproach. But I’m starting to wonder if that discomfort is intentional. I don’t fully see the message yet, but it may be that the story is deliberately peeling back the illusion of moral superiority. Another one of our female leads is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her DNA out of the police database, which says a lot about the lengths these women are willing to go to protect themselves and each other. The repeated mentions of the cold case without much detail also make me think this is only the beginning, and that we’re going to learn far more about the darker corners of this seemingly pristine trio.
There’s also a strong sense that she may have done something significant for her friends in the past, given how stressed they all are about the DNA situation, though that’s just speculation for now. I’m only midway through episode three, so I’m reserving final judgment until we see where everything lands. A lot can change between now and the finale, especially in a K-drama.
I’m willing to go along for the ride and accept that these characters aren’t as “good” as they initially appear. I do not, and did not, defend cheating. I believe you misread or perceived my words that way, but as anyone can see, I never justified her actions. I tend to examine the bigger picture just as closely as I scrutinize the heart of an issue. As a writer with a long-standing interest in psychology, I make it a priority to understand people, whether they are fictional characters or strangers passing by. Understanding why someone acts the way they do is not the same as agreeing with or condoning those actions. I study serial killers in an effort to understand what shaped them; that does not mean I condone murder. Similarly, my attempt to understand why someone cheats does not nullify my morals. Cheating and murder are wrong, full stop, but people still commit them for reasons they justify within their own perceptions. Exploring those reasons helps me understand human behavior more deeply. Is she a bad spouse for cheating? Yes, I agree that she is. Does that make her a bad person in every sense? Not necessarily, though it also doesn’t make her a “good” person. I can acknowledge both her flaws and the good I see in her, despite her poor choices. People are complicated. They are flawed, capable of doing harm, and capable of growth. Some continue making the same mistakes; others learn and change. While people can sometimes be simply good or bad, more often they exist in the gray. How we choose to categorize them is ultimately subjective. You see my perspective as justification, which I firmly reject. That interpretation is yours to make, just as my interpretation is mine. Absolutely, you said what I had been meaning to say about the distraction of one subplot that seems to be overwhelming the overall plot and bigger picture. This story matters! The reality of the twisted world we live in, of the things that happen behind the scenes of society are terrifying but we have to acknowledge them first in order to ever change things. Everyone should be seeing this story, and I am right there with you in defending this kdrama with my life. Lol. I appreciate you. You have an ally in me. I don't condone cheating and usually stray from content about it, but this is just a single droplet in a river of other things going on and the incessant rambling on about it is unnecessary. It distracts from the main focus! I also feel like the cheating scene happened because the writers wanted to convey just how deep of a romance the FL and her ex had with one another, how despite being together for 7 years and ultimately moving on with their lives, there was still feelings between them. Doesn't make it okay, but it give weight to how well these women knew the victim and the impact he makes to this story. Both professionally, as an ally to air out what has been going on and personally, rather than just a face of another person silenced and slain in this network of mayhem.
Episode 3 is zooming through the motions already, it is non-stop action. This drama keeps you on your toes. My head is spinning from all the twists and turns, I love it!
What a great two first episodes, I am enticed! I need more, asap. I love the ending of ep 2 and the realization that took place in that final scene. Oooh I am not supposed to be supporting a serial killer but hey, dude warned you in ep 1 what would happen..... ahhhhhh I love this story so much already.
Woah - This drama just throws you right into the chaos... ep one had good pacing. I immediately went to ep 2 and was completely taken aback by the plot twist revealed in the first 10 minutes. I literally was not expecting things to twist and turn so fast. What a tangled web we are woven into in just two episodes... My mind is warped by this drama already - I have to know how this all ends.

What I found beautiful and poetic, is the depth of their love for one another. It unfolds into a heartbreak so deep that her only means of surviving it, is to travel back into a memory and lock herself in - just to be with him again. There she can live out the happily ever they both earned but could not have. At the end, at least for her, it was a happy ending because she gets to re-live falling in love with him all over again through this nostalgic loop. That is heartbreaking because it is and only will ever be a memory. We are left with no guarantee whether or not his soul will return, the narrative suggests eternal separation. In most dramas, there is a chance that he will be reborn even if it takes centuries. There is no such hope in this story, that would have been easier to stomach, for me anyway. Better that than being locked in a heartbreakingly nostalgic loop chasing after a love past.
Such a great story, I loved ep 1-4. A thorough romance beautifully orchestrated within only 4 episodes! I can barely believe it wrapped everything up so well! I am so excited for next weeks new story: Phra Pita Fights! The preview was great, l am so intrigued!

Truly iconic, one of the great stories. It is a little slow in some areas but the character development is great. The characters you meet along the way of this 16 year journey are truly incredible. I hope s3 comes.
