Could have been done better

Episodes 1-6

I’m finding everything pretty easy to follow. A few times watching the first 6 episodes I had to pause and go back just a little to reread what I heard so that way I could remember who the different people are and what their positions are and it’s all been pretty easy to follow so far.

Good amount of comedy, the FL show shows her good nature, virtuous, and mischievous personality we get to know her more and we get to know the ML lead more. He’s very serious and focused on his own personal goals. Doesn’t seem too interested in things outside of that but because of Jia Yu he learns more about her, but she doesn’t remember meeting him so he has a bit of an advantage here.

I am not loving this show. I am watching it but it is not as great as it could have been.

Episodes 7-18

I am a huge fan of HMH. But as the episodes go on, I am struggling with the age of the FL. 17/28/29 is just gross to me as an adult. Especially after the inappropriate comments made by the director. They really should have cast an adult FL. I not only don’t see romantic chemistry between them onscreen, but I don’t want to. HMH was 28 and Riley Wang was 29 at filming. Both are too old for a teenager.

I am on episode 18 and it is starting to head further along with the romance between them. She looks like a little kid next to a grown man. She also acts like a little kid. They could be siblings but not lovers. He seems like a protective brother. He knows how to act and I have seen him have chemistry with practically all the FL’s he has acted with. (and I have seen all of his shows but a few I can’t access in the US.) But I don’t see that here. Honestly I am glad atp because I think it’s better for him to not feel comfortable acting romantically with a teenager.

When I watch a show I judge their acting based on several things. But what really makes me think they are acting well is if I really think they are that person they are playing. Like they themselves look like they believe they are that person. some ppl do this so well. I believe Riley Wang does this really well in this show. along with his sister. But their plots are not believable.

For example(Spoilers by episode 18) The simple life goals guy, Prince Qi, who is madly in love with FL decides on a whim to not run away with his beloved that night? Nope. While also knowing he was trapping his sister there with him? He gains no real power and they are both beaten and tormented at times in the palace. Then Li Le Jun [Li Mao's younger sister] would not have had to switch the poisoned arrow they could have gotten someone to do that. Then Prince Qi is mad that Xiao Wu Yi is falling in love with her. Dude you abandoned her. Either leave the palace and run away with her or get over it. You made that decision now own it.

Then we are supposed to believe that we Le Jun who was taken in by Princess Mom who her nursed back to good health took care of her for many years needs to die at her hands to protect her brother from someone she does not know to be a real threat to Mao. Prince Wenji is not a threat to Mao for several reasons. Mao doesn’t even want to be in the castle so he could get to leave if Wenji did come back. She doesnt even know if he exists.

Then Mao not being mad at his sister for killing his beloveds mother!?! What was that? It makes him seem really stupid. That’s his Grand Tutors wife too. So I am not buying that she would do what she did. I also think they could have stopped the cart from going off the cliff or at least tried harder. Then the way it fell off the cliff Le Jun is not surving that fall.

I am not feeling Ai mi’s acting either. There is something missing for me. I liked her at first but then I started to change my mind as it went on. The character too young, impulsive and at times selfish. Like her lifelong maid died in front of her and the affect it had on her was not very long lasting. Your dad is a cold blooded killer. The maid did not have to die then either. How is that teaching your kid to grow up? Sicko.

I also didn’t find it easy to follow the problem with the past and the An story line. The show does some flashbacks to show us things but then some things are missing and feel skipped over that should have flashbacks.

Also compared to Love in the Clouds, for example, the lighting and cinematography are not as good. It is missing something. I think it often looks and feels rushed.

Hou Ming Hao if you happen to read this please so down. You are doing so much and it worries your fans. You don’t need to do so many shows back to back, constant ads, on top of your music and concerts. You are human and you should take it a bit easier. You deserve time to yourself. You deserve a life outside of your career. play basketball more wtih friends, deink well eat well and sleep well. You are so talented. But you can’t keep pushing yourself so hard or it will affect you badly in the long run. I will keep supporting you. I just hope you take better care of yourself.

Not enough Consent

What is up with all the sexual assault? I guess I was expecting romance between them and consent.

I was rooting for them as a couple. I thought maybe the rumors were exaggerated. But even if he was doing bad things at least he shouldn’t get all grapey.

my review isn’t long enough….

I started out liking this. Big Jane is hot. But the forcefullness is not sexy at all. Idk I have to make this longer still not long enough. I think his out of control anger is also too much. I don’t believe the younger brother even seems like his brother and I also don’t think he would be gambling and get into debt. Especially that L Jane has to sell himself to B Jane.

I love Love in the Clouds!

This was my very 1st C Drama & it did not disappoint. I have re watched this show so many times. I love HMH! I have sent watched all of his shows. But this one is still my favorite and I keep going back to it. The music is beautiful as well. I have fallen in love.

There are some parts I don’t like, but I won’t put any spoilers because I just don’t understand why the FL would do some of the things that she does but I know it’s different than the book. I haven’t read the book but I have heard some things about it on social media.

I know POJ is very hot right now and people don’t know how to move on but if you haven’t seen this, I think this is way better and there’s no need to move on. Just watch it again.

Very slow moving

Very slow moving.

it feels like you’re watching two people fall in love very very slowly, and watching their day-to-day lives and a lot of the things that young people go through in a new relationship.

I honestly had a hard time watching this because it was so slow moving. there wasn’t a lot intellectually going on between the two leads in the writing. they’re both good looking and they have good chemistry. I really like the traditional Chinese medicine because I’m been into natural healing for a long time, and I think a lot of people can benefit from it.

we already know what to expect when it comes to our K dramas and sea dramas they’re not gonna kiss for a very long time and it’s gonna be even longer for them to be intimate. which just feels really unrealistic that people have so much self-Control. especially when they’re facing such a handsome man with such a good heart and good character.

it was a bit predictable. I already could tell somebody was gonna develop breast cancer, but I wasn’t sure who. I thought it was really really childish of the parents to not tell their daughter that she needed to go for this surgery. I did not like that. They kept it from her. They treat her like she’s a toddler when she’s a grown woman. she can handle it. They can’t handle it. Maybe she can handle it. and then to make her boyfriend to keep it from her, I was just diabolical. OK maybe not diabolical but it was wrong. and then when he doesn’t explain it to her the first time clearly that she was to ask him not to say anything and ask a doctor if he can’t legally say anything. but rather let her blame him for something he had no control over. once it went to the part where she needed surgery, they should have told her about it.

they were like oh you didn’t tell us about your breakup, and you handled that burden all on your own when it was a breakup, but then it comes to this other serious life event that’s life or death and they think it’s OK to hide from her. I also don’t get it when people don’t explain main characters like the grandpa what happens to his wife we never hear anything about what happened to his wife. It’s just he and grandpa.

I do think they kept the father son relationship issues pretty realistic because people don’t always talk things out and resolve things the way that they would like sometimes things just get push the deeper and let go up so they can move forward.

overall, I wouldn’t recommend watching it to like friends or family but if you’re a fan of the actors and of course you’re gonna wanna watch it I’m not a huge fan, but he is good looking enough to enjoy seeing his face lol
They are good actors and there is always something to learn about orher people or ourselves from any show we watch.

I’ve watched everything again with HMH. I wasn’t in love with the storyline. They obviously had a good budget, but there wasn’t anything too crazy about it except running a lot about tea and tea farms.

Not really a spoiler more of a storyline that’s typical in dramas.. I hate when families fight over power. It’s just a sad situation to shut your family up to fight against each other. You should be supporting each other and loving each other and not going up against each other.

Life in this world is treachorous and dark

I feel like production was rushed on this with the sound effects and the music because a lot of times it just felt so out of place . There would be a piano sound or other type of intense sound effects or music playing at Weird times.

I really didn’t like the princess storyline and I fast-forward through a lot of it because she was so annoying. I’ve never met a girl like that and my entire life. I highly doubt that they would’ve “ Spoiled” Her to have no common sense. Plus They were plenty of opportunities for him to explain to her why that guy was evil. Especially because he found out that the guy ran death camps. Which I honestly don’t understand how he was the owner of the death camp the Red general was in since they were about the same age and her and the three heroes all went together when they were little kids. So I feel like that’s a plot hole maybe I missed it. In the end, she wasn’t being forced into it, which is a very rare Opportunity in these type of shows, usually they have no choice, but she didn’t have to. The whole thing where he saved her life in the desert, it’s also completely not believable. The princess runs way into the army and nobody notices, and then she somehow tries to take a short shortcut, even though she has no idea where anything is and gets lost OK.

I got some of the stories of the in fighting with the royal families. It’s like if the emperor doesn’t take multiple wives then there’s not gonna be this whole thing with the women and the fathers of those women who are always officials. they’re never happy with what they have and they always want more.

In the beginning of the story Feng S Was a lot like his father and trying to Act like he owned her. just like the emperor treated his late wife. since he was the founding emperor, she really didn’t sign up for being an empress.

I don’t get why they have so many episodes and rather than give us a good four episodes or so of them being happy and changing the world for a better they just give us more and more sadness and fighting as if these people haven’t been throwing off already.

even though I had to fast forward through the princess part until they got to the other country, I still enjoyed it for the most part.

Bingeworthy! Entertaining and fun!

I loved this show from the very start. I watched it in just a couple days. It was so good and entertaining. the female lead is absolutely beautiful and I love how she does her makeup. the male lead is also very attractive. sometimes the female eat isn’t as a good looking as the man shows for some reason I don’t know, but she is so beautiful.

I like how they were transmitigated into the novel. I also like the dialogue and she was not annoying in anyway she is very smart, loyal and loving.

I don’t wanna give away any spoilers. so I won’t. I highly recommend the show. I haven’t heard of it on any of my social media. and I don’t know why because it’s way better than some of the ones that are being promoted by fans.

there are a lot of interesting characters. The stories is pretty well developed not terribly difficult to follow along. I really liked it and I think you will too.

OK now I guess I’ll have to add some spoilers because I guess my review isn’t long enough without it cause it’s not letting me submit it yet even though I thought I wrote plenty

spoiler alert

it’s nice that his secret wasn’t a terrible secret. usually when someone thinks they’re protecting somebody from something they’re not and they’re actually harming them, but I think that in this case, knowing early on that he had been there for so long would really make her depressed and feel like she couldn’t get through it for that long like he did. also made me feel really bad for him that he had been alone for so long and such a terrible place and missing his family.

after it was done on the last episode. I felt like we could get a whole Nother show on what their life is like in modern times and how could they possibly process all the trauma they experienced in such a short amount of time too

trying to look at characters as 2-D to help them cope with dealing with having to kill people off was an interesting approach. I have seen a few where people are transmitigated into a story they usually don’t treat the other people in the story like their disposable, but I feel like it was a good coping mechanism. but she obviously didn’t feel that way about the characters in the story. She cared very much about all of them. but he had been there much longer and faced much more cruelty than she did.

these stories usually start out lighthearted, and then there’s the first time where the female leader will get emotional about something in the new world because something became very real. I always hate when they wait till the end to start making changes in the world, especially when they have a lot of power influence. but he didn’t have a lot of power in the beginning and had to fight his way to get that influence so when he finally did, that’s when they were able to make changes. that’s when they usually try to promote women roles in government, but they hardly ever actually show it implemented.

I’m also surprised when they never bring things from our world into that world. I think there is only two things that were brought there which was hot pot and a gun. lol but they could definitely get more creative I think and what they could bring to new worlds.

I really enjoyed watching Shadow Love!

I loved this show! I love that she’s a female general from the beginning. We don’t have to watch her fight for the right to be a general. We just right away get to see her Authority and power. All of those things are so physically demanding. I also love that she had like only women at her house and how kind her character was, but also fierce, intelligent and brave .

OMG Cheng is soooo hot! The way his every move is dripping with seduction. He is also a great actor, not just eye candy. I liked how it felt like real interactions between them. They weren’t afraid to have them get close before the episode half way point. Which made me think they would be separated early on but thankfully they weren’t. They have great chemistry.

I think the people obsessed with her age are weird. For 1 I haven’t watched anything with either of them before. So I didn’t know her age going into this. I thought they made a great couple. I think the age issues are when the FL is an actual minor with a grown man. How is this weird? I imagine the ppl who have a problem with this are jealous teeny boppers who think they have a shot with the ML. 2 she is playing a general who commands an entire powerful army. Do you think an 18-20 year old would be a general? 3 She doesn’t look old to me at all. She is beautiful and a good actress.

I am glad she didn’t have to act like she wasn’t attracted to him, like they make women play in most c/k dramas. Where I will be watching a show and be like how many women would resist this mans charms IRL? Not many. There will be such an attractive, sexy man and they are getting closer physically and then in most dramas she runs away. Girl IRL what woman is running away from this? So I am glad they didn’t write it that way.

There were a few things in the story I thought didn’t fit. like when they didn’t tell the PrinceSu Mu Yang their plan and he believes they abandoned him. at the very least when they returned them back to the generals mansion, they could’ve told him, but I don’t get why they returned them back to the mansion anyway cause that just ruined their whole plan and efforts.

i also don’t think the crown prince Su Mu Yang was that young he would pretend his right hand was injured to the FL or have such severe personality flaws that were so drastic to what they showed us that made his change of character unbelieveable to me.

I also think when Prince Annan returned he would have locked up the evil empress right away.

I also think that Prince Annan would have been able to find out that the man i black was loyal to her.

and that he could have written himself a long letter detailing everything he had been theough because hello he knew he was going to lose his memory for so long. he could’ve written about all exactly what happened everything that he loved about her and their experiences everything they went through all the stuff about the people that were after him like everything could’ve been detailed, and he could’ve done it in his own handwriting and written things in a way that’s so when he read it, he had to believe that it was true because it would be in his own handwriting and he could’ve even put something in it that would make him know that it was him, but instead, he does draws pictures on the wall, as if he’s illiterate so those were like things that I think were not realistic.

I thought throughout the whole story that I was impressed with how it was written. I thought it had a lot of really good elements. It was very entertaining, definitely binge worthy. I will rewatch it at some point to drool over Cheng. I just watched another of his shows and he seems like a whole different person/actie which shows what a good actor he is.

Great watch I really enjoyed the show. I enjoyed seeing China back in the day. I grew up in the US and we had computers in the house is a little bit before trying to did I like seeing the differences in the culture and how things are structured compared to hear and how those differences affects people and the choices they make the biggest problem was I could tell I was getting confused at the end because it seemed like they were building up into new information which didn’t make sense to me because the season show was ending and there wasn’t anymore after that so I wasn’t sure what they were doing. They definitely were building up for another season that didn’t come through, which made it a bit untidy at first I thought maybe they meant to leave it untidy because life is never ending challenges are never ending complete one goal you have another but as it got near the end, I realize that definitely wasn’t what was happening. They definitely were gearing up for another season but never happened. I really liked seeing HMH play a different character. Most of the dramas I had seen at this point with him were fantasy so they’re very differently structured and completed so it was nice seeing him play a more modern north typical person and such a restrictive role or not role but character compared to his normal powerful magical self

I really liked the Family aspects of it and I think they did a really good job making it look like it was from that time. As well, I would recommend watching it except the only problem I had was I watched it on Amazon prime and there were a lot of episodes missing so I had to get another app to watch the missing episodes on my iPad which wouldn’t cast my TV so that was a little annoying but other than that if you’re watching it on a different app you won’t have that issue but I do recommend it just keep in mind that it starts winding back up at the end for more that you’re never gonna get, but it doesn’t ruin the story. It just feels like real life.
