@Fiona by the time ML informed him, it was to late for CXQ to actually listen to him. It might have worked if someone else CXQ respected told him, but I feel like it was to late for CXQ to listen to anyone.

@Fiona I had the same hope as you. I wanted him to spent time working in a place where he could see the direct impact of his decision and know how vast the world is. Maybe that would have help him process his emotion in a healthier way, at least it did in the novel. I don't know if he was removed from the Chen family's book, I was skimming his scenes by this point.

I also agree that after CXQ found out about his family history, he felt threatened. That why I could empathize with CXQ, when he found out about FL & ML marriage and how he was reacting. As he kept acting like a child in how he was handling his feeling, my patience with him started to wan fast.

@Fiona, at the episode you're at, I can see how you got yo your conclusion. I agree that CXQ has a right to be angry. I think the difference in how ML & FL treated him in comparison to YX is due to 2 reasons:

1) YX feeling for the FL were never returned by the FL. ML never had to contend with the fact that FL previously had feeling for YX. While with CXQ, he finds this out indirectly without the FL telling him. For the FL, she viewed YX as a friend thought out their relationship and was not aware of his feeling until after she liked ML. With CXQ, she doesn't fully know why he broke things off with her, but she was able to let him go and now he wants things to go back to how they previously were.

2) YX stopped approaching the FL romantically after she got engaged to the FL. Mainly because he had his own circumstances take keeping him busy as he was processing engagement ang marriage to ML. CXQ just stewed his his feelings, and never had an outlet that would distract him enough to process his feelings. He waits until she is married to start pursing her even after she is telling to let go off her and let the past be the past.

CXQ chose his ambitions over FL, which is fine, but he didn't even pursue it and chose to pursue the FL after she got married. YX chose family obligation and respected the FL decision to married ML in the end even if he did not like it.

It think part of it is due to how the prince was raised. His father never allowed him to outshine his brother. He grew up suppressing his desire to fight for power and ended up rebelling in other ways, like the way he dressed at the kings birthday in episode 1.

Q1 Answer:
....Huiji does not end up with the PM. Partly due to the PM never really confess his feeling to her. And partly due to the FL never really seeing him as anything more then her best friend for childhood. The ambiguous relationship is due to Huiji not knowing PM feeling about her and Huiji not having any romantic feeling bout the prince at that point. She was much close to the PM due to the fact he is her childhood best friend. ....

Q2 Answer:
.... Huiji is the Mrs right for the prince. She is the one that pushes him to fight for what he wants and supports the decision he makes. For Huiji, the prince is Mr right because he supports her in being who she is and doesn't try to change her. Though she is self-centered and self absorbed, Huiji does care about the people around. That's why she doesn't follow the path of taking extreme action to become the successor of her family business, like killing her brother or breaking any laws. She's just used to having to fight for everything she wants and only having to count on herself when things get hard. ....

@Ti02 I think PM wants recognition more than power. I'm not 100% sure about it though since we have so little information about him shown.

When it comes to the abolishing of the monarchy, I understand him being against. Min is a traditionalist. From the first episode we know he was against ML becoming the King, before Huiji got involved. We also know that he has big shoes to fill when he became the PM with his father being know as the greatest PM of Korea. He is very much pro-monarchy, no matter how much he complains about cleaning up their messy.

I don't think Huiji hates the ML , she is annoyed and irritated by the privileges he got based on who his parents are. If she truly hated the ML, I don't see her forcing herself to pretending to be in a loving relationship with him. By the end of episode 2, all Huji wants from the ML is the doors that would be open up from there marriage.
