Same here. When he met her he started thinking that something was not adding up because she was not that kind of heartless person . I am glad he did not dismiss her but took that chance to get to know her . It must have taken a lot of courage to do that

Yes that was my interpretation as well. He was devastated that he had lost everything for not even the right girl. I do blame Jiaqi though. How could he not have investigated anything before setting them up? Such an unreliable friend . I can understand why the ML did not investigate in the 3 yrs and let it go. He must have been so hurt plus he was dealing with recovering from the accident and then loss of his career. Why would he even put himself through going after that girls again?
